Beautiful old hotel, can do with some upgrading but the old world charm prevails. Choose a room with a view on Lynmouth bay.

This hotel; is shut. Apparently (according to the publican) the owner died and the inheritors decided to close it. There is talk that it may be converted into flats. We stayed there years ago and loved it. What a shame.

Interestingly furnished bar area packed with an eclectic collection of pictures, statues and ornaments. They also had a good choice of yummy cocktails. I had pork which was very tender and tasty and the service was friendly.

We stayed here two years ago and were going to pay a visit but discovered that this was the last week of opening. Such a shame. A great place with incredible views. We thought of popping in for a meal but assumed the restaurant wouldn't be open as it was on it's last legs.

Food excellent although a little pricey. Just wish the restaurant had been open on the Sunday evening as well as Saturday.

Sadly the future of this hotel/restaurant is unknown at the moment. We hope it remains so we can go back again. Quirky friendly and a fabulous place. Restaurant was also great. Views amazing. Thank you for having us. :)

We booked Sunday Lunch for my husband's 60th Birthday as we were staying in a cottage just around the corner and had read good reviews on Trip advisor. We enjoyed their speciality Miller's G&Ts before lunch. The hotel is furnished with antiques and interesting items. We were given a window table which gave us a wonderful view over the harbour.... The service was a bit clumsy (water poured into the wine glass you didn't happen to be using yet, cocktails very slow) but the food was excellent and the view over Lynmouth as the sun set was fabulous

We decided to eat at the Tor Hotel on our last night, just on a whim. What a wonderful surprise it was! First of all, the hotel is owned by an antique dealer who has fitted it out with wonderful antiques, so you just feel like you are in the lap of old-world luxury. Then, we were seated in the... On a summer evening, vacate the dining room and eat on the terrace with the sunset laid out around you. The food is good, the pate was nice and the duck breast done properly. The wine selection fit the dinner well, and the waitstaff was friendly and unobtrusive. Really a nice evening out.
