Very welcoming quirky cafe. Also a record shop playing mellow music and a selection of singles to flick through and reminisce over as we drank our coffees in the sunshine. The owner selected a coffee to suit my tastes. I've never been asked how I...More

It was a bit of a miserable day (rain and cold) so the place was desert, however we had a lovely lunch, with very tasty sandwiches and panini, both lovely prepared and presented. It is a cosy and welcoming place that also offers free Wifi....More

We had a lovely lunchtime cheese and ham toastie with salad. A baked potato with cheese. Salad and dressing. Freshly prepared salad as you could smell the cucumber. Coffee and hot chocolate was good as well.

They stayed open just for us, which was very kind. We only wanted a light snack and we really enjoyed our freshly prepared egg mayonnaise sandwich. The decor isn't exactly our style, but we were very well looked after and came back the following day!

Popped in for lunch after a delightful walk. Both meals (ham, eggs and chips and jacket potato with tuna) were freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Very good value. Worth walking round the corner for! Highly recommended.

We popped in here for a cup of tea and a teacake. They were promptly served and really good value for money. A nice cafe in a good location in Lynton, on the edge of the town.

I have decided to reply to your review on Lily Mays cafe. First of all your comment about poorly wrapped food in the window,I would like to point out that this food is for display purposes only and not for human consumption. I would also like to mention that Lynton is a very dog friendly town and when we are quiet I allow dogs into the cafe as long as they behave and don't disrupt other customers and yes I had a conversation with them about their dogs and yes Ii brought my dog out to see them but I had changed out my whites and was taking a break. After which I washed my hands as I always do before handling foods of any kind....our living quarters are next to the kitchen so at no time do I allow my dog or any animals into the kitchen area. The only reason I introduced my dog to your wife was because she was practically hanging off the chair looking at him with glee after all he is a little cutie. Your comment about the food was rather strange because when I asked if you enjoyed the food your reply was yes and you certainly ate it all except for a small portion of quiche but it was a large serving. Yes i agree with your comment about the carpet but as you mentioned we are new to the cafe and are doing what we can a bit at a time,we are a small family run business and are learning as we go but really Martin L you should get your facts right before you have a go at good hard working folks who are trying to earn an honest living.....but I'm glad you came into my cafe at least you were leaving someone else alone........thank you lily mays.....
