It was a long time ago I visited this place, but from what I remember it was pretty good fish & chips.

A large order for fish chips and peas was expertly handled by the staff and owner of WHF. The batter was crisp and not too thick and chips actually tasted like real potatoes (and not processed ones as in some other establishments) and they were...More

After a wobble WHF is back on track as our chippie of choice ( ignore the herald 'best chippie' list). Beautiful fish. Lovely, cooked to perfection chips. Battered sausages? Delicious. Try WHF and spread the news Recommended

Well done West Hoe Fish Fryers yet again a really first class portion of cod and chips. Crispy chips on the outside yet soft and really hot middles an ample portion. However, the fish is the supreme offering, crispy, crunchy batter never too hard and...More

A sunny Friday eve in Plymouth, what’s better than fish and chips on the Hoe. Buy them here. The queue shouldn’t put you off, it’s a sign of its quality and popularity. The owner takes six or more orders at once and remembers them all....More

There are a few fast food eat in and out food places in Plymouth some of which have a modest cult status in the city either because of their prominent and convenient position or because of a consistent reputation. West Hoe Fryers has such a reputation for being close to the Hoe foreshore and parkland and foe taking care to maintain traditional standards. There is a steady faytime trade and often a queue for the cafe eating area. Worth a Tripadvisor listing.
