Waiters with no knowledge Very poor menu selection Disappointing food Where to start. I read the reviews and was unsure whether to book and unfortunately, and against my better judgement, we decided to give it a go. We went for Sunday lunch and arrived just after 1pm to a pre-reserved table. Looked very nice and my worries started to fade... More

During our stay we had breakfast here on both mornings. Without a doubt the superior ingredients used made for a delightful experience. Everything was perfect. The yogurt, the scrumptious scrambled eggs. The top quality bacon and the sausages all added to the perfect breakfast. I must compliment Dartington on sourcing such excellent food and chef for the best breakfast in... More

Good addition to the hotel. Booking in advance well worth doing as it's not huge and fills up quickly and the quality is good.

Had ordered two Club Sandwiches - Bacon, Egg Mayo, Chicken at £10 each. What arrived was just Chicken. it was very edible, but talking to a family on the next table they too had a Chicken... More

Booked for Sunday lunch and were the first to arrive. We were given a table for two in the centre of the room which proved to be very draughty. Although we were reseated the new table proved on the internal thoroughfare to the bar next door. This resulted in a constant procession of people brushing pass on route for a... More

Arrived at around 6.30pm, the restauraunt was silent apart from one couple sat in the corner, whom me and my partner were seated right next to. Slightly awkward as there was no music playing and we were sat directly next to the only people in the whole place. We requested to move and eventually the restaurant livened up (albeit, still... There are also live bands, it is a cozy place to relax for a drink, but I never tried the food, good location for the facinating High street walk, and a nice place to partake of another drink afterwards, Hope this has been of some help for you...

Recently had dinner here. Whilst the staff were very friendly the speed of service was very slow. Our initial drinks order arriving after the meal was brought to the table. Lamb, and, unbelievably, chicken dishes were off the menu and after we placed our order so too was the fish and chips despite the restaurant being less than half full.... More

Beautiful place with live music. Sunday roast was fine. Kids fish and chips liked and not tasted great. Service was also fine.

Food is average, not hot enough and seem to run out readily with no fish of the day available one day and ran out of mussels listed on menu and grapes to go with the cheese which seems odd as you have to book. Staff willing but don't appear to be very well trained or aware of customers. Pleasant but... More
