We ended our day in Brighton at English's and we are very pleased we did. The crab platter was incredible! Such value for money at £30pp but you got a crab, a whole roasted sea bass, baby Dover sole, queenies, calamari, jumbo prawns and scallops and a large pot of clams and mussels! Totally worth the money and very fresh,... More

Situated around the 'lanes' part of Brighton, this smallish restaurant provides excellent food and service, with a fish orientated menu. We ate here some years ago, and were not disappointed with our most recent visit. The restaurant is 'snug' inside (it was too cold to eat outside, which we had done on our previous visit), but we enjoyed our meal... More

The menu has plenty of options and the flavours are amazing. It's a really big restaurant and the sitting outside is great for a nice romantic meal. Very enjoyable!

Eaten here a couple of times before so booked for a pre theatre meal at 1730. Restaurant was quiet due to the time apart from some very loud Chinese in the corner which ruined the start of the meal. We opted for a crisp Sancerre, some oysters and the crab sharing platter, food was very good and loads of it.... More

We reserved a table and ate early as a pre-theatre supper. When we got the menus we were told that one or two of the items had run out which is a good indicator that the fish is fresh. We chose the potted crab and the lobster croquettes to start - delicious! This was followed by a wonderfully indulgent lobster... More

We were struggling to find a restaurant for Saturday night dinner when we came across this place. We wanted fish and this must be the best one in Brighton. The mussels were big and succulent. The prawns were spicy but very good. The lobster croquettes were sensational. There were four of us and we all ordered different dishes and all... More

First impressions were very good, nice cosy atmosphere. Three of us chose differently, and all food was very nice. The first disappointment came at end of evening, 10pm was clearly packing up time!! Tables being cleared and then the smell of bleach! The other disappointment was that we were not offered coffee, probably because they wanted rid of us! Such... More

We arrived after the first round of guests had settled in, although we sat upstairs on our own, the staff were very attentive. the Fixed Price Menu was excellent, well prepared and fresh. The NZ Sauvignon was also very good. We will be back !

Restaurant is on several floors with fairly steep steps so need to be fairly fit if table is on upper floor. Food good
