My husband and I arrived on a Saturday evening at 7pm, it seemed empty but vey quickly filled up so would recommend booking. Front of house manager was excellent - very welcoming and really organised. We shared the hummus, tzatziki and some Lebanese bread for starters and we both had the Sultans kebabs for mains - the food was very... More

I visited the restaurant yesterday evening with a group of friends. We ate at 5.30 so it wasn't very busy at that point but did get very busy later on. The atmosphere was great, the insense sticks lanterns and carpet decor etc make the whole middle eastern experience great. Food was so tasty and we didn't have to wait for... More

I love eating here - always so friendly, relaxed and happy. A warm welcome with the added bonus that you can bring your own wine or whatever you want to drink. The hummus is divine, but it's all good.

I booked a surprise birthday meal for my parter in December for 12 people. The food was really tasty, we chose our options in advance of the meal and they came out in a timely fashion and all were correct. It was a great bonus that we were able to bring out own alcohol without being charged corkage. The staff... More

We visited here for dinner with friends some months ago and are due to return so It prompted me to write a review. Myself, husband, another couple and friend were directed to a lovely booth decorated authentically and really set the atmosphere. It also gave us privacy without feeling claustrophobic. The owner took us to our table and chatted with... More

.....but I didn't enjoy my visit here as much as I should have!?! We arrived unannounced as a table of two, and the greeting was excellent. The staff are fantastic. It's a very simple set-up, but perhaps that's where the problem lies.....who knows? We arrived with our own bottles of red and rosé, and it was cool. The food however... More

I went there with my family and some friends. The food was amazing. Me and my wife picked 2 Moroccan dishes, and we loved them. The service was quick. And most of all the waiters were smiling, friendly, and appeared happy doing what they do. I loved the place, and I would go again if/when I visit Brighton again.

We booked our table at lunch time for dinner that evening and when we returned the owner treated us like royalty nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and being able to take your own drink without corkage charge is great. Thank you for a pleasurable evening lovely hosting great food large portions and great baklava 😄

I first visited A Taste Of Sahara a couple of months back and have been looking for an excuse to go back. Went with a different set of friends this time and they were all very impressed with the restaurant, service and food. A* recommended.

Description
A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brightons busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its dcor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all ones Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurants mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.
