Best lunch in Brighton, affordable, delicious and vegetarian/vegan. It’s great turnaround so you’re never waiting long on your lunch break

This is the sort of place that you think of when you think of the north laines in Brighton. Good food, good atmosphere. I went on my own for lunch and it didn't matter that I had to sit with strangers in a canteen style....More

Spent a night in Brighton and found this on the website, so went straight from getting off the train. Cannot praise the food highly enough. For non-meat eaters it is great to have such a good choice. Portions really big - such good value. Really...More

I came here for lunch and ordered a sweet potato, aubergine and courgette lasagne with green beans, indian beans, houmous and mustard dressing. You pick one hot food, then you can choose two side dishes and two dips/sauces. The service is really quick and efficient...More

It's been a while since we were at Iydea. But standards haven't slipped and we had a great lunch. A roti packed with flavour and some amazing tasting side salads. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here and I'm not even...More

Recommended to this place by a friend from Brighton and glad we went along. In the pretty/funky North Laines area, it's a really cute little eatery, with comfortable seating and cheerful staff. Very tasty simple plates of salad, which were great value and lovely and...More

Great food, cheap and healthy. The food is vegetarian but meat-eaters are happy too. I'm not veggie and I love it. It's a sort of canteen service, point at what you want and you get a bit of it on your plate. But don't be...More

Stumbled across this place whilst walking around the streets of Brighton. We ordered a large coffee, large chai latte, a big breakfast (vegetarian) a small breakfast (vegan) and the vegan raspberry and almond cake. Everything came to £21. We had to pay cash as the...More

Sorry - same answer, you need to ask the restaurant directly. Again I have never seen any 'reserved' tables when I was there.

Hi, iydea is small and can get rather busy / quite noisy from midday. You are welcome to to try, may I recommend you get a seat at the back as they are quieter. Seb

Iydea is a small and very busy express vegetarian canteen right in the heart of Brighton's North Laine area. All the food is freshly made and is on display so you can choose only what you want to go on your plate or to take away. There is an extensive breakfast menu from 9:30 every morning which changes to the lunch menu at 11:30 (12:00 Sundays). Iydea does get very busy and cramped so best to avoid peak times if you want a little more space and comfort.
