I used to visit my friend in Paris a couple of times a year for over a decade and eat at laid back places with incredible food, this is one of those places but in Brighton! I want to move in!

Plateau has a relaxed and inviting vibe , where all made feel welcome ( includes all age ranges) Been there more than three occasions and never fails to satisfy our expectations. The food is excellent equalled by staff who know how to give good service, know their food and wine recommendations, the range is vast. The menu is simple, and... More

Great atmosphere, service was friendly and the lady really knew her stuff. Simple menu, and what's on it is creatively selected. Loved this place. Went for a sharing platter- awesome. Organic wine choice refreshing.

A groovy little restaurant and bar which is a fave in Brighton. Love the super range of natural wines they have, which are such honest, fun, exciting wines to enjoy. We had a lovely dinner here a few weeks back back sharing a viande/meat plateau which was delish and left us feeling full and happy, however will have to come... More

We had lunch with my family on a Sunday. Impeccable, kind and attentive service. The vibe is cozy and relaxed. Excellent food and wine selection. I had a plateau of 3 type of fish that was just delicious! Price is mid-range and worth spending the money.

We had a nice time when we went here for a drink after dinner elsewhere. Interesting conversation with the bartender who introduced us to the curiosities of the world of cocktails.

I was looking for a local restaurant in the Lanes for a quick evening meal and couldn't have been happier with this find. We were in a rush and the service couldn't have been more accommodating. Everything came to the table fast and every morsel was absolutely delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer and settled in for the... More

This is a lovely restaurant and the food was good but I thought it was overpriced. I have no problem spending money on good food however £15 for some cauliflower and halloumi is a bit steep. The meal was ok but the menu is limited, there is a specials board which was nice. It was a nice evening and the... More

Good cosy atmosphere. We had the most wonderful food and superb natural wines. My husband is originally French but has lived here in the U.K. for the last 25 years and he is a wonderful cook himself and even he thought the food was fantastic! I even tried tongue which I thought I wouldn't like , but was melt in... More

I don't know how this restaurant has the high ratings it has. Firstly the food isn't worth anywhere near the prices because of portions and quality. The service is poor to it took over half a hour to get some overpriced bread.

Description
Independent bar à vin, restaurant & cocktail bar based in The Lanes, BrightonWe are a unique bar à vin & restaurant with a passion for great food & wine. We have put a great deal of time & love into selecting our wines. At Plateau you can discover interesting & affordable wines that you are unlikely to see on other local wine lists. Our selection is mostly natural with some biodynamic & organic examples. We have sourced wines from local Sussex producers to renowned names & newcomers. To soak up the wine we serve ‘bites’, small dishes perfect to share or great as a starter. Follow your ‘bites’ with a ‘plateau’ to share or a 'plat' & that’s our dinner experience… although don’t forget dessert! Our chefs source organic, fresh, local produce as much as possible.Did we mention the cocktails? They’re probably the best in town & although we don’t serve Carlsberg we do serve some pretty imaginative beers from around the world. We have some top quality spirits, including some rare rum, whisky & cognac…and I almost forgot, keep an eye out for the ‘cocktail de la semaine’ & ‘beer of the moment’.There is no set way to visit Plateau, you can match the wine to the food or the food to the wine. Pop in just for a drink, a few bites or a three-course meal – the idea is that you do whatever suits you.
