Just had to write a review about a wonderful meal my wife and I had here last night. We haven’t been for a while but Plateau is a very special place for us as it is where I proposed and she said yes almost exactly...More

Wandered in hoping to find a table at absolute prime time - just before 8 on a Friday and had an amazing evening. A warm welcome and attentive people but that was only the start. We set them a challenge with one of us needing...More

I had a lovely evening in Plateau for the Czech wine testing. It was a pleasant way to discover new wines from a uncommon area. I've met lots of lovely people there. Jiri, the wine producer was very interesting and he kindly took the time...More

Sadly one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. Very poor quality and badly cooked food served with wine that tasted like it was still fermenting. Avoid at all costs.More

Thanks for the feedback. The concept behind Plateau is based around natural wine and fun casual dining. We have a buzzy atmosphere and a progressive and dynamic menu. We know the menu can be at times challenging, but we always try to put on some...More

Fabulous atmosphere, great service with attentive and knowledgeable staff. This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton. As the name suggests, it was the sort of place where you could get interesting combination platters of meat and fish, interesting starters and great...More

Not the best wine tasting I have ever been to I am afraid. Quite boring and drawn out with tiny tastes of wine for £15. Glad to be released to go downstairs and get a decent bottle of wine and some nice food.More

We're sorry you found the wine tasting less that exciting. We do feel that the opportunity to taste 8 different wines with food for £15 is actually amazing value. Were surprised that you didn’t think so. We love our Czech wine guy and the world...More

Sometimes change isn’t for the better. Found the new menu boring and dissatisfying. £13 for a main dish of celeriac ravioli that amounted to 3 small pieces. The food is now like a tasting menu . You need to order a lot of dishes. So...More

Love this place, it's quirky, buzzy and full of character, the food is unusual and tasty and there is a great choice of wine. The waiter was polite, informative and professional.

Description
Independent bar à vin, restaurant & cocktail bar based in The Lanes, Brighton. We are a unique bar à vin & restaurant with a passion for great food & wine. We have put a great deal of time & love into selecting our wines. At Plateau you can discover interesting & affordable wines that you are unlikely to see on other local wine lists. Our selection is mostly natural with some biodynamic & organic examples. We have sourced wines from local Sussex producers to renowned names & newcomers. To soak up the wine we serve ‘bites’, small dishes perfect to share or great as a starter. Follow your ‘bites’ with a ‘plateau’ to share or a 'plat' & that’s our dinner experience… although don’t forget dessert! Our chefs source organic, fresh, local produce as much as possible.Did we mention the cocktails?
