In the days of ‘Gastro Pubs’ it was a delight to find a homely classic pub still serving proper pub snacks as well as the traditional food. The pork pie with cheese and the scotch egg with tomatoe and chorizo both served with piccalilli are...More

Nice pub and people. However, after getting our drinks and sitting down, the tv got turned on for the racing and it was so loud we couldn't hold a proper conversation. I did ask for it to be turned down, at least in the section...More

We just called in here for a drink, so I am unable to comment on the bar menu which looked to be very interesting to try. I thought that it was like an old pub used to be. I liked the decor of using reds...More

It's an unusual pub with a good atmosphere as it was so busy. We had a baguette each, mine with fish fingers which was delicious! Staff were very polite even though the were run off their feet.

This pub is always busy in summer and we have enjoyed a pleasant drink outside at that time. On a cold and snowy winter day we decided to try out the inside. The pub lacks warmth and the wait to be served is longer than...More

We were let down by another pub in town so The Cricketers was our next option. I’ve drunk in here many times and heard good reviews about their food. However I was very disappointed. Ordered the lamb, then were told by the waitress they’d run...More

What a great pub! How pubs should be....warm, welcoming and friendly with a great atmosphere, beats a posh wine bar anyday!

Chicken liver parfait was served with a slab of stale ciabatta which had been toasted, but left to go cold. The sea bass was a two-inch square piece of cold fish with no sauce, not even a slice of lemon and 'roast' potatoes that were...More
