We had a lovely lunch today at Stanmer House / Proud Country House. Coming from London it felt very special as we approached the stunning grade 1 listed building and were greeted by the welcoming smell of burning logs in the open fireplaces. We felt...More

I was at a loose end and thought I would try the grand old house in the park for a spot of lunch. The renovation is beautiful and the house cosy on a bright but cold day. The food was great and the house nice...More

It's a brave organisation that has a sign at the door inviting visitors to leave feedback when the service is this terrible. We waited 35 minutes for 2 coffees and waited and waited. All around us were people complaining and I left feeling incredibly sorry...More

High prices, average food, terrible management and service struggling. We would not return unless it changed hands.

For years we have visited Stanmer house for drinks and dining, whenever we have been in the park. Family occasions, dog walks whatever it’s always been a welcoming no nonsense venue to go to for a Sunday lunch or a pint after a walk. The...More

Hmmm not sure what’s happened at this venue as it used to welcome customers who where happy to make the most of the facilities even when busy by standing in the bar area etc. We where held in a roped off area as if we...More

We had our Christmas party at Stanmer House. The building is incredible, lovely feeling to it, very festive atmosphere. The first clue of what to expect was the lack of traditional turkey on the menu choices. Then the drink prices - they are a level...More

Credit to the staff who were trying to deal with a large volume of people, though the methods of management were like nothing I've ever come across. The only and main entrance is cordoned off as soon as you enter, by means of vetting everyone...More

Sorry, we only had the basic afternoon which was great value, but I would always recommend Prosecco for any celebration anyway, go for it!

We never actually stayed there, just booked a meal there for us & a group of friends, but they claimed they never got our booking & wouldn;t accommodate us. Bit of a shambles to be honest. I wouldn;t bother
