It's always a good sign when you look at the specials board and are spoilt for choice. I had the lamb shank which came on a bed of mashed potato & really rich sauce. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is there was a lot a fat in that lamb....but I guess that's what you get with... More

We went to this pub on the recommendation of our Airbnb hosts. We popped down in the afternoon and the pub had a great vibe, lots of people and lively chat and we were advised to book for our evening meal. We got there at 7pm and were directed upstairs where we were shown to a table in a room... More

We like this place which has a good atmosphere, and usually good food. However, our experience of Sunday lunch very disappointing with well overcooked lamb shanks. Would have sent food back but difficult when in group. Can't recommend

I appreciate regular clients are the life blood of pubs in a community. However Brighton attracts clients from further afield. I called in on Monday 10th April at 6.30pm as it was shown as closest pub with food showing sky sports. Football kicks at 8pm, already all tables you could sit at view the tv and eat were resevered for... More

The lion and lobster was my local when I lived in Brighton, it’s still a lovely pub but now boasts the most amazing food!!! Made a very last minute booking, they were helpful and accommodation, thanks! I had a delicious meal, started with pate which was so tasty and followed with succulent Hake as my main, my companion had a... More

The menu is too good !!! I'm vegetarian and normally have no choice but not here, there were so many options. Waiter was great, super friendly good with the kids etc The food was outstanding and the place has a great laid back and yet chic atmosphere. Will definitely come back here next time we're in Brighton

Voted No 1 for Sunday Lunch in a recent Brighton survey. However on the day the roast vegetables were not up to the usual standard. The potatoes were soft and the parsnips undercooked. Disappointing for a restaurant with high standards.

Bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Three floors if you include the roof terraces. The ground floor has a mix of open areas, bright and dark, nooks and corners and even a traditional looking fireplace. Good for families, small groups and clandestine couples. The menu was a mix of traditional/modern english and European/Mediteranean We had the mixed lunch... More

Beautiful place, people coming and going, a sense of excitement- when you're here you feel like you're participating in something! I love the dark interiors punctuated by bursts of light at the windows. Great food, friendly staff, incredible nooks and crannies, wooden panelling, framed portraits covering the walls. Room for large groups to eat inside, or drink outside on the... More

Visited the lion and lobster while on a weekend break in brighton. It has a lovely local warm and inviting atmosphere . Friendly staff, great food and a good selection of beers, wines and non alcohol beverages. Perfect little place to unwind and relax.
