We met a friend for an early evening drink and saw that there was to be live music later so stayed for something to eat. The burger was one of the best I've ever had. The pub filled up as the evening progressed and was really buzzing by the time we left at 10.30. The music was great and had... More

OK, it"s Friday evening, but we had told them there would be at least 10 people turning up to celebrate a birthday - some eating, some not. From the outset, the attitude of the staff was confrontational : how dare you expect prompt service ? 'We weren't expecting people to eat' 'I'll be back in 15 minutes to take your... More

We visited The Pelham Arms recently for a birthday lunch and were very pleasantly surprised to find the food served there was excellent! Sometimes pub food can be a little predictable but we ordered for four adults and three children and were delighted by the quality of food on offer. Starting with a sharing platter we moved through to main... More

This is a really friendly pub, from the welcome all the way through service to leaving. The staff went out of their way to speak to us, advise us on food and drinks and generally check that we were having a great time. The food was tasty and I believe, good value. We had roast dinners which I can highly... More

Great, friendly service. Great food. It took 20-25 minutes, but seemed home cooked and fresh (you never know these days) and was perfect. Prices are as expected for a very nice pub and we were happy to pay the prices after the terrible experience at the Shelleys just down the road.

Came for a family lunch. Food was really lovely, great choices and not the run of the mill. Staff were very friendly and attentive. However service was a little slow as our meal took 45 minutes from our arrival to be served. And then there was quite a gap until we were offered pudding / coffee. We weren't in a... More

Description
The Pelham Arms is a traditional British public house at the top of Lewes High Street, serving Lewes’ best local and seasonal food with a relaxed friendly service in charming surroundings.Built circa 1640, this quintessential Sussex pub has original oak beams, an inglenook fireplace, courtyard garden and is full of age-old charm. We love children at the Pelham and your little (or not so little) lovelies are welcome in the pub until 8pm. Dogs are also welcome in the bar areas. We look forward to seeing you soon!
