I should point out that the George is also a bar, in fact it has a very nice bar area, although you can see the restaurant and smell what ever is being served, like me you can just use the bar for a relaxing drink....More

We are staying at the hotel and stopped in here for lunch. I had fish and chip which were very good. The service was excellent. The dinning room is large, clean and comfortable. Enjoy

Popped into the courtyard on our way to the beach. Great staff, lovely food, (try the steak sandwich) amazing setting, if a little hot but these guys can't control the weather. All in all a great start to the day, I thoroughly recommend!

What a shame. Our last visit almost two years ago was really good. We were staying at the hotel and it feels like these were two very different establishments run by different management teams. Not sure whether the head chef was in last night but...More

Rye is a great plae to visit - but where to eat when it's after 4pm? We discovered a nice backyard terrace full with people, one table free. A nice sunny afternoon, sun going down but temperature just ok to sit outside. Ok, time for...More

The George Grill and our bar, The George Tap, are temples of all day dining, serving a modern European menu with a sunny, Mediterranean slant.

At the heart of the kitchen is a Josper wood-charcoal grill, where our kitchen team, led by Robert Wright fast-cook seafood just caught from Rye Bay, local meats and vegetables.

The George Tap offers a large range of wine by the glass, including those from vineyards in East Sussex and Kent.
