Staff are great, room very comfortable & clean. Very old building so you expect creaky floors, uneven walls etc however the carpet & shower room could do with upgrading. wifi was useless. Breakfast was great :)

If what you are after is solid pub grub with a little extra and really good service then this is the place to go.

A good range of spirits and local beers, but the food it a bit lacklustre, uninspiring and slightly overpriced. The same old pub grub pertaining to be Gastro pub fare. Ate there once and didn't go back.

I ordered 2 orange juice and lemonade pints at the bar. Very nice they were for £7.28. I nearly died. The guy next to me has 2 pints and was charged £6.00 odd. Does not do much to encourage not drinking. Ordered good. One was fine and just as advertised. The other one was not. Dried up bread. Oh and... More

Ate on the first nt of stay. Ordered starter to share. Prawns & crayfish. This was tasteless and warm. I was told the fish had been run under warm tap!!. Lamb shank ok but presented poor. Husbands steak was somewhat dried & bit overdone. Expensive bill. Breakfast first morning sausage undercooked poached eggs were also. Breakfast second morning better. Omelette.

Food was of poor quality and rather tasteless. The Sunday lunch comprised of a selection of meat (not home cooked typical microwave cheap stuff) 2 very small barely roasted potatoes and parsnips, fake mash potato, very hard barely cooked vegetables and one shop bought cheap Yorkshire pudding with about one desert spoon of the thinnest and tasteless gravy. Would not... More

I am a little concerned by the suggested price of your meal, there are no two items on our menu that add up to that price? Of course we will take your comments on board to suggest we have microwaved meat is somewhat invented. More

This establishment has an old fashioned queuing system when you enter. You have to stand (some times for ages) until a member of staff finds the time to come up to you and tells you where you must sit. Take sometime to read: it'll be a long wait until you get your meal... and the plate is likely to be... More

Thank you for your comments. we have three service areas, the bar and garden less informal where you simply find a table and order at the bar or a formal full service area. Apologies if your food took longer than usual, sometime we can be busy and it does take a little longer, I will pass on your comments to... More

We booked this hotel based on the fact we visited bourton before and liked the look of this hotel from the outside. We found the ladies loo and the ground floor smelly with a drain cover off. After booking in we went to our room, number 9. It was very small and in need of a makeover! It looked quite... More

Went for an evening meal. Sat down and choose meal, but when I went to order, was told the kitchen closed at 8pm. No other reason given. This was at 8:10pm. Checked the board outside as leaving. Yes, definitely said serving until 10pm ! Went elsewhere!

The exterior of the building makes it look like a great pub but it does not live up to it once you get inside. Food was nothing special and sounds weird but was served too quick, had a ten minutes wait for pie and mash and roasted chicken. Staff were great and friendly. Overall was expecting a lot better from... More
