Having looked forward to dining here and in view of its Michelin stars I have to say we were surprised and disappointed by the mediocrity. Dining room could have been any provincial hotel, totally lacking in atmosphere or intimacy. Staff were professionally attentive but strangely detached. Amuse bouche of a macaron with duck parfait was startling, the combination of sweet... More

You cannot fault the food in this place. The menu was so hard to choose from, everything looked excellent. However, there was a long wait in the lounge (half an hour), even though our table was ready and we had ordered food and wine - really I just wanted to go and sit at my table! It was quite awkward.... More

We visited on the 15th of April and still can't believe just how good this place is! From the moment you walk into the restaurant you are welcomed, put at ease and made to feel that you are important! Then the front of house team start to deliver the enthralling food offers. From the muse Bouche with such Devine flavours,... More

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here one Friday evening in late March. We both chose from the A la Carte menu (3 courses for £67 although with the various canapés and the pre-desert they bring you it is more like 6 or 7 courses). The whole experience was one we shall never forget and we fully intend... More

Beautifully prepared and presented, creative food. Both the set menu and the a la carte of the same high standard. Portions a little small for my liking but plenty of bread on offer. Knowledgable and helpful sommelier - on both the wine list and the extensive cheese board. Minor complaint - the bread was cold on the inside and rather... More

Absolutely excellent dinner - an eclectic menu that we sampled fairly comprehensively between the 4 of us, with every option very good indeed. Attentive service with being overly attentive; all-in-all a great restaurant for that special occasion.

Another visit on Friday to Le Champignon Sauvage for lunch with a friend Such a superb experience always. Whether judging taste, value, service or surroundings you really can't go wrong on any count here The menu is changing constantly and with lunch for just £34 for three exquisite dishes including an Amuse Bouche & superb homemade breads. Great wine list... More

I have to say the food was very good here, but I found everything else let it down. Décor, toilets but most of all the service. The Head of house is so miserable, no smiling or attempt to engage with us and this sets the tone for the other staff. Only the girl serving the wine was friendly. Arrival drinks... More

This restaurant has two Michelin stars, which is why we chose it, and it certainly didn't disappoint. As well as the main menu there is a fixed price menu at £34 for 3 courses. However, even if you choose from the fixed price menu you still get the complimentary amuse bouche and appetiser. The service was faultless and, despite, the... More

Both being foodies, my partner treated me to dinner at this wonderful restaurant and with a two Michelin star rating, I knew it wouldn't disappoint. From the moment the door was unlocked right until we were dressed with our jackets at the end of the evening, I have never felt more attended to as a customer. Let's start with the... More
