This year I decided to go on a foodie adventure, it started as a birthday treat and turned into a rather nice addiction. Lumiere was the first of the many restaurants and what a great start. I was there at lunchtime and ending up picking their set menu (I wish I had tried the tasting menu) it was stunning. A... More

Fabulous evening spent in this lovely restaurant. A great cullinary experience with food attentively prepared by Chef Jon Howe. Loved every minute here and highly recommend for that special occasion....it's not meant to be cheap and the quality of the food proves it's worth!

A few years ago I would have said this restaurant deserved a Michelin star. I have now changed my opinion. After eating lunch there a few months ago I was sad to see it had gone downhill. The starter was tiny and the fish course tasted off. Desert was good but they are still serving the same dishes so hardly... More

We had waited for some time to book this lovely restaurant on a Saturday evening. Such is the understandable demand. Restful decor and simplistic but elegant tables were instantly welcoming. The set menu was inventive and delicious. Truly first class cuisine. Service and advice was constantly diligent. A most enjoyable culinary adventure. Highly recommended for a special meal. Thank you... More

My wife and I have been visiting Lumiere for years and did so again on 15th April 2017 to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food conjured up and prepared by Jon and served up by Helen and her front of house team, was simply exquisite. It is a mystery to us as to why Lumiere has not received a Michelin... More

We came here for our first anniversary and enjoyed the entire experience. It's not often we indulge in this level of fine-dining but we're glad we were lucky enough to squeeze in on a last minute cancellation. There are only a handful of tables and the serving staff were attentive without being obtrusive. They seemed to have the gift of... More

From the outside, this restaurant doesn't look like much at all but don't be deceived. It's quite small, perhaps seats 20 or so diners. It's a lovely decorated room with a sneak peek into the kitchen. All the tables are well placed so there is an element of privacy/intimacy. The menu is not huge but there's something for everyone. You... More

We flew in from the US for a family reunion and celebration. We have eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants around the world and the quality of food was on par. Add to this the friendly service and we will be back for more great cuisine in the future. Great evening, thank you!

Having spent most of the last few years living in Germany, this was our first visit to Lumiere since May 2015 and general election night. While much has changed since that date and just about none of it for the better, Lumiere has bucked the trend. Fantastic before, it has stepped up a notch. The food has always been 1... More
