Came here for afternoon tea for my daughters birthday the staff are really lovely we were asked if there was anything anybody didn’t like which I don’t eat fish so that was sorted, nothing was to much trouble, selection of sandwiches and cakes were really...good, only it would of been nice if we could of chose which slice of cheesecake we wanted and cakes, other than that it was a really lovely afternoon tea.More
Me and my husband celebrated our anniversary with a lovely afternoon tea, we have been to a few afternoon tea deal in many restaurants but Richoux is by far the best we have been to, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the atmosphere was relaxed and...lovely friendly staff, highly recommended!!! Worth a visit ++++++More
The restaurant looks really fancy and the staff are really nice, however the coffee I received was the most bitter and burnt and so hot that I couldn't drink it straight away as would have burnt my tongue.
I also had scones and unfortunately they...were rubbery and the smallest scones I've ever seen which is very disappointing.More
Came here a year ago for afternoon tea and swore to never return. Masochistic tendencies and misplaced optimism brought us back in hope that their food was better than semi frozen scones.
An allegedly French restaurant that serves curry and fish and chips. Mediocre canteen...food, atrocious prices and you don't ever get a linen serviette.
Patisserie designed for the gullible who don't know their gateau from their mousse. Tried their Black forest cake which was topped with an unknown jam to look good. Black yes...nowhere near the forest.
Should have stayed home with an omelette and given the money to charity. Much better "feel good" both for the palate and the soul!
Saving grace, great staff!!More
Having a lovely lunch today. 1 of us ordered the breaded chicken with bolognese sauce and got a full spaghetti bol plus whole yummy chicken breast. Needed a bit more sauce and could feed 2 easily but very tasty. I had Richou florentine. Again yummy...but spinach needed more draining, a minor issue. Last friend had the sea bass, to die for. As for desserts, just heavenly! Saw a couple with afternoon tea which looked fab too. Definitely going to come back for that.More
Booked an evening meal for both my wife and I. Initial impressions as we arrived was good. Upon ordering we found that the Menu handed to us did not match that online which was disappointing. My starter the Goats cheese was only what I could...describe as cheese and tomato on toast, ie a piece of Granary bread toast with four slivers of Tomato with one sliver of goats cheese on top. This was an alternative choice as my online choice was not on the table menu. We ordered cocktails, whilst we waited for the food and a bottle of wine with the meal. Two glasses of wine arrived when questioned they stated that they did not have a bottle chilled. The limited choice of wines did not offer an acceptable alternative, so new cocktails were ordered. Mine arrived and was considerably stronger than the previous one. The main course (Sea Bass) was presented well and was good. The staff were attentive however I found the waiters very close proximity whilst he was serving both my wife and I unsettling to say the least. Overall a poor dining experience. Would I go here again? The afternoon tea reviews are good, I think I will wait until it gets some consistently good reviews for the evenings before I would book again.More
