Mom and pop run restaurant and pub. When all the locals are here, you know it will be great! of course the fish and chips were yummy. I had a south African special of the day and it was so good! I could tell a lot of passion is in the kitchen! And at the bar too!

there are better places to eat and drink at this end of town - why go here when you could go to the Dancing Man at the Woolhouse for history, The Platform Tavern ( better all round) or Caskaway (when open) for a great range of beers/ciders

Had some friends visiting from america and we arranged to meet up here on a saturday lunchtime. We booked a table in advance as there were 12 of us in total, and had to pre-order some of the meals to give the kitchen a head start for our arrival. The staff were extremely friendly and helful on the phone and... More

This pub is within the old city walls of Southampton--an easy walk from the cruise terminal. As authentic as it gets. It dates from the 1200's. The beer and fish and chips were excellent and reasonable. You first order and pay at the bar and are later served at the table. We were there when there was a home football... More

My wife and I had a sunday roast here. We booked table in advance as it is a popular place to eat. I had mixed grill and the quality was excellent. Great meat and vegetables. Good sized portions. Highly recommended experience.

We had a very warm from the Landlord and the lovely lady from Perth (Sorry did not get her name) We ordered some... More

We chose the Duke of Wellington based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The café is quaint and simply delightful - service is friendly, prices are affordable and food was pretty good.

Found the Duke of Wellington on TripAdvisor. We were in Southampton for a couple of days over Easter and really wanted a roast dinner for all the family. West Quay has loads of chain restaurants, but nowhere that you can get a traditional English roast dinner. Between the four of us we had beef, turkey and pork roasts. The food... More

Great pub for a pint or food. The food is local and well portioned and quite tasty. The pub has a nice feel to it, no tvs or games, just a quaint English pub that you could wile the day away in. The proprietor Vic is a gem.
