We each had the vegan burger, they were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We had fries and Kimchee on the side and they were good too. The cocktails were fab and the staff were friendly and helpful - all round great experience

A very disappointing visit here last night. After eating here for many years in what was once a good place to eat, has been spoilt by over expansion. The staff were trying to cope with the orders not only from those eating in but the...now popular takeout business. We along with others waited nearly an hour and a half for our food with no explanation as to why. On chatting to the staff who were extremely apologetic, they were frustrated with the current situation and lack of help from their employers. Hopefully they will take note of this review and perhaps decide to stop thinking of the profit and also stop takeouts when short-staffed to enable the public in the restaurant to be served.More

Having eaten here since the restaurant first opened I have been saddened and extremely disappointed by my recent few visits. Staff, both in the kitchen and front of house are run off their feet trying to cope with way too many tables and take away...orders and you could see they were stressed and agitated. We arrived at 8pm and were still waiting for our order at 9:20. Due to the chaotic atmosphere, myself and another couple were just left in the corner, with no explanation for our wait or an offer of another drink etc. It truly saddens me having once seen this restaurant as something unique with wonderful produce. The upgrade in size has clearly not been thought through in terms of staffing, both front of house and in the kitchen, as well as adequate training. I also noticed a huge lack of management which would solve a lot of the issues seen recently. I would like to say however, that the young front of house staff were very sympathetic and friendly once we voiced our issue and they do deserve accolade. Personally, if I had worked in these conditions at their ages, I would not have coped with the amount of pressure being put on them with no guidance and management to support them. I do hope that management begin to listen to their staff and meet the needs to make this otherwise unique and wonderful site a success. It would be a massive shame given what once was the best burger shop in Hereford.More

We had heard good things about The Burger Shop but those good things didn't match our experience. It was relatively quiet at the time of our visit. The customer service was great. Yeah they were all polite enough, but we're not really attentive. We were...plonked on our table with very little interaction. Left with some pretty limited menus. Our Fries arrived 5 mins before our burgers which is a bit odd. When our burgers arrived, we weren't asked if there was anything else they could get for us, no one came back to check everything was OK with our food. Our empty Coke bottles were left on the table the entire meal. After we had finished we say for a while waiting for someone to come clear the table and ask if we wanted dessert, which we did. Eventually we got up and went to the till area and asked to pay so we could leave, others had done the same while we were there. The food was OK. Good flavours. But nothing I would rush back for. And given the service I would not return. Abandoned in a restaurant!More

We visited in 2020 when the lockdown restrictions were relaxed, sadly we had a disappointing experience. We had booked a table and the restaurant seemed quite empty at the time with the social distancing measures in place. It was a very hot day and we...didn't want to sit indoors by the kitchen so we moved to a table outside - one table area was wet from plant water and the other squashed in a corner. Unfortunately our food took some time to arrive and we were faced with queuing diners in close proximity who stood next to our table to share the shade. The food arrived in a basic form, we had to request cutlery/sauces/napkins. Sadly the my gourmet burger bun was soggy with onions, the patty was dense and a chunk of blue cheese was just sitting inside. This maybe a result from the pandemic but I'm not sure we'll be back at the price they charge.More

Booked a table at The Yard and was hoping to try some new food and all they had to offer was the burger menu. Not only this I had saved up some cash to pay for my family and they are only doing cashless payments!!...The staff were happy to take cash tip though 🤨More

I love The Yard. Great atmosphere & set-up and all round good vibes but sadly on my last visit I left feeling like I was robbed. I went last night for some food and drinks with some friends but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with...the quality of food and service. Firstly, all of the food was brought out at different times meaning some of us were finished before others. In all fairness, this could be down to the fact there were 2 table numbers so food may have been scattered between the two instead of just concentrating on one number first, but the staff (who all seemed very nice) didn't seem that interested and didn't even ask if we wanted any sauces or napkins. On top of this, the food itself was also very average and lukewarm, which hurt seeing as I'd paid over £30 for two meals. I'm not mad... Just disappointed. I'm hopeful this was just a one-off but they cannot afford to become careless.More

I love The Yard, the Bookshop and the Burger shop but wish we had never opted for Barabeka. The sides were fine but the main chicken dishes were so salty that I couldn’t eat mine. My partner’s chicken leg was still pink. We left in...order to go elsewhere for coffee and cake to get rid of the taste of salt and burnt garlic. Not a great experience although we would return to eat at the other venues there. Of course with the covid set up, you pay in advance and nobody asks you how your food was - so we couldn’t really do much about it at the time.More

Probably one of the finest burger locations in Hereford. Burgers are juicy and incredibly tasty. Always excellent quality. The sides are incredible, had the roast chicken Kiev balls, paired we the tarragon mayonnaise, I would do unspeakable things for these. The kimchi as always Is...excellent, just spicy enough for me. The deep-fried curd was very good, comes out like deep-fried halloumi. But less salty and creamy. The tomato sauce pairs well and cuts through the richness. The cocktail menu is great, simple but enough variety, had the mai Thai... dam.. nice long refreshing drink. With pineapple juice, fallernum (rum blend) and pisco ( white spirit made from sugar cane). Well worth a visit. Staff are friendly and more than happy to help.More

Excellent tasty food, will definitely return. Service was a little to be desired. Needed the waitresses attention, she did spot me waiting for her to help us out with something, but didn't come forward to help. So you can have the best food, but if...it lacks service sorry guys i can't give you a 5. Let's hope it improves on my next visit.More
