We booked on a whim, looking for somewhere with excellent vegetarian and meat options. The menu gave the impression of an authentic Italian restaurant, with very reasonable prices. Mercifully, Leo, the co-owner, had a table for us exactly at the time we had in mind....He was very welcoming, courteous and professional. Hearing his Italian phrases as he served us transported my partner back to her time in Tuscany. As for the food, it was spectacular, and all cooked by Leo's wife Alice. Garlic bread as it should be, and what bread! Fine cured meats, beautiful wine, and sumptuous pasta. A wonderful tiramisu for me, and Malteser gelato for my partner, which she said was the best ice cream she had ever tasted. Dinner on a whim has lead us to discover a true gem, and somewhere we will most definitely be returning. Grazie Leo & Alice!More

We were welcome and well attended by the very friendly owner Leo. His wife Alice produced lovely food which we had with house wines were reasonable and good. Best Italian restaurant we've been to outside Italy.

Our son was visiting from London and arranged to take us here. I admit I was a bit reluctant as I’d been to this restaurant over 10/12 years ago and not returned. However I was blown away by how delicious the food was. The slow...cooked rib of beef with pasta and the ravioli dishes were so flavoursome and as good or better than food I’ve eaten in Italy or London. The starters and desserts, especially the gelato, were also top class. I will definitely return. Thank you for a memorable evening.More

What a beautiful meal. We spent a long weekend in Firenze in October and spending time in Ponte Vecchio transported us back! I have to say though that the meal here beats anything we ate while we were in Italy....... It's not our first visit...to the restaurant and each time the food just gets better and better, you can taste the passion and expression the chef puts into her food. Just excellent. We look forward to the next time!More

Visited for my birthday in November. Got there early-ish around 6.45 / 7.00 and already only a couple of tables free. Bear in mind that this is a quiet Tuesday in Hereford & everywhere is like a Ghost Town, apart from this small restaurant. The...food was freshly prepared and both the Beef Short Rib Ragu and Pappardelle were stunningly flavoursome. Really enjoyed our meal & as long as your not seeking frills bells & whistles this is a great option. The food & family operating Ponte Vecchio know their stuff.More

Always a pleasure to eat here. Never had a bad meal - the minimum standard is a very good meal but most often excellent. A well organised family business, constantly changing and updating their methods to ensure the highest quality and most eco friendly meal....Their Nutella ice cream is a must try.More

Very homely no frills environment. The star is the food. Which is clearly cooked to order and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is beautiful, the service is wonderful and the food was outstanding. It took me back to my many visits to Italy, real Italian food. Thank you.

My wife and I were visiting Hereford and dined mid week at this wonderful trattoria. Delicious food across all three courses in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

My partner and I were visiting Hereford for the first time and decided to visit this restaurant as it had good reviews. We are so glad we did. The food was more than delicious and the restaurant itself was charming and the staff were so...welcoming and passionate about their food. We would have been happy to pay more for our meals based on the quality. This is probably the best Italian restaurant we've been to in the UK. My partner is now trying to find excuses to come back to the area (we live quite far away) just to visit again. Eat here! You will not be disappointed.More
