Went there a few weeks ago for lunch. It was freezing cold ouside but nice and cosy inside, the fire place is a nice touch. Loved all the well behaved doggies that are allowed in. Food was tasty and staff friendly. Nice deco. Next time...More

I have visited the six bells many times but on the last few occasions feel that the food has really gone downhill. On Mother's Day the roast lunch was the best I have ever had in a pub but the last two visits paper thin...More

This was a last minute booking after our usual restaurant of 19 years let us down. What an outstanding pub, great beer, food & staff. Alan is a warm friendly accommodating licencee and we will definately be back again in 2018.

This is a pub we have walked past many, many times, but never visited. We popped in for a drink a little while back and on the strength of that we booked Sunday lunch. We’ve been missing a real treat! The atmosphere of a real...More

We came into this lovely dog-friendly pub at around 1.30pm on a Sunday, after a glorious autumn walk around Verulamium and St Alban's. We hadn't booked but we were luckily given a seat just in time; after us the pub filled up right to the...More

I wanted to love this place; it's ancient, cosy and serves beer. It wasn't too busy on Saturday night and we got a table but gave up after one pint as getting served was too hard. Not only was there a beery barrier of bodies...More

We welcome well behaved dogs in our main bar and extension areas as well as in our newly refurbished garden. Maybe you could get them a treat off of our new 'a la bark' dog treat menu! We look forward to seeing you.

Great pub in the centre of St. Michaels village offering everything one would want from a "local". Can't believe it's not one unless the owners have requested so.
