I had the falafel and houmous flatbread, which was delicious and reasonably priced. Make sure to use the loo as it has a lovely view of the Cathederal!!

This was a lucky find. Everywhere on the main streets rammed and serving the same old same old. Came across this little place in a side street and they could not do enough for us. Great cups of tea and coffee: so good we ordered...More

Located in Sun street, Canteen offers a wonderful ambience and relaxed atmosphere and very importantly, great staff and coffee! Sitting upstairs, you have a great view and can have privacy or a perfect location for a group of friends. Thoroughly recommend!

Had a nice little pit stop here recently. Nice coffee for me and my Daughter had a Strawberry Milkshake. We also shared some Chorizo flavoured crisps. All good.

Tasty healthy food served in generous sized portions. I'd recommend the Canteen Special, just yummy. Friendly staff. A quirky old building on three floors, steep stairs if the ground floor is full but I'm sure the helpful staff would do their best to accommodate you...More

Very friendly service. Really nice food as well. I had a jacked potato, nice and hearty with a cuppa. I do want to remark it was not very clean. Dark circles on cups and spoons. Tables where wiped down but not toroughly enough to standard.

Had coffee and a scone. Coffee good. Scone spoilt by being microwaved so it became very hot in the middle and ' rubbery' in texture. Has a 5 for hygiene but spoons in mugs on the table are badly stained, rolls of fluff and dust...More

Just three doors to the left of Canterbury Cathedral Gate Canteen serves freshly made flatbreads, salads, baguettes, toasties, jacket potatos and daily hot dish / soup. Everything is made to order from freshly prepared ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible. The building dates back to around 1600 and from the windows you can get glimpses of the Cathedral (particularly from the loo !). It is a rather rickety building so you need to be OK with stairs as our seating is over three floors. We provide eat in or take away food and a large variety of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and juice pressed on the premises. Due to popularity we also now serve delicious cream teas.
