After walking around Dover, the White Horse Inn looked appealing for drinks and dinner. Great food and wine. Stuart, the co-owner, told many interesting stories of ghosts and poltergeists. The walls and ceilings are covered with channel crossing achievements. Well worth a visit!

On Saturday 3rd December my Wife and I called in to the White Horse, our fourth visit to the Pub now. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by other patrons of this fine establishment. We spent the evening talking with them and the owners who had nothing but time for us. They made us feel like we were... More

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, Jules and Stewart made my evening. Had the stew and it was incredible. Some of the best service I have ever received in England!

I hadnt been to this pub in over 6 years. Since then it seems to have been well renovated and the new owners are very polite and welcoming. Myself and friends came for an evening drink, love a pint of Amstel on tap!! One of my friends has his name on the wall twice for swimming the channel once solo... More

Spent the evening here and enjoyed great food and good company. Jules and Stuart make everyone who walks through the door welcome. The food was homemade and delicious, we will definitely be back!

Born and bred in Dover we had never visited this charming pub until yesterday for Sunday lunch, wow one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had, it was a delight to go into a traditional pub and eat good food with pleasant staff and excellent service. We revisited the following day for a light lunch, again excellent quality... More

Went for Sunday lunch and loved it, roast beef or chicken with all the trimmings, including stuffing, yorkshires, carrots, swede, leeks and gorgeous roasties :) staff were lovely and welcoming, massive servings of food, I had a huge chocolate brownie with whisky cream after. Dovers best ever roast dinner!

What a fantastic find on our recent visit to Dover. While the menu is limited, the food is very fresh and cooked to order. The owner is very friendly, flexible and ready for a laugh. Great to read what app the channel swimmers have written. We really enjoyed our evening, highly recommend the food and would definitely say it was... More

When my Brazilian husband Edison Peinado swam across the English Channel, the first 6 hours were so brutal that the observer on the boat said to the captain, "Looks like we'll be back in Dover for lunch after all," meaning Edison wasn't going to make it and we'd have to turn back early. In the 11th hour, with France in... More

When I booked my table at the White Horse for me and dad I jokingly asked if there would be bangers? (as it was bonfire night) After our long trip from West Yorkshire (via Manchester where dad lives), we got to the White Horse just after 6pm. We were warmly welcomed and it was not long before Stu appeared with... More
