I was recently in the Hull area and popped in for Haddock and chips in restaurant above the shop. I was impressed by the succulent fish and crisp batter, with good sized chips. They also served me with bread and butter and tartar sauce and...More

Love the Hull classic of patty, peas and chips. Bob Carvers is the taste of Hull. Absolutely delicious!

Can't beat Bob's patty & chips with onians and mint sauce! Got to be the best in Kingston upon Hull - if you like them traditional!

As gross as it fabulous, I think Bob Carvers confounds in the modern era. It truly is the disgusting, greasy wretch of an eatery that people claim, but equally it serves newspaper bound, steaming hot, old-skool fish and chips with an authentic flavour that taste...More

We had the worst fish and chip lunch today! What has happened to this place!! Burnt batter, dried out fish and soggy greasy chips- we wish we hadn't paid the bill. Never again -what a pity!!! No wonder there wasn't hardly anyone eating in there...More

Called in for fish and chips and this well known Hull fish & chip shop/restaurant. The fish and chips were nice and a good size serving. But the whole place need a revamp and clean up. The floor was so greasy it was dangerous.

Walked out. Worst place. Dirty. Disgusting. Re-fried chips, fish was off. Grim. Do NOT go, ever!! We didn't get a refund, and wasted £27 on the order, which we all only had one mouth full. Truly terrible!!

Where to begin. I ate in. Ordered Haddock and chips. Swimming in grease, the oil was old and too hot so the batter was burnt. The fish survived just but the chips were disgusting- they used the wrong type of potato, too waxy which left...More
