The home made burger was unique and tasted delicious - had a kick to it that we had certainly not tasted before from our boring and regular choice of a burger. Decor was lovely and the atmosphere cosy - reasonably priced and staff were attentive. Presented nicely and although I wouldn't say this place really stood out to me I... More

The Lily serves some of the most delicious food in Ambleside - fish and chips the best we have ever tasted and don't get us started on the chicken ham and leek pie - OMG!!!! Miss this place, miss out!

You go in and you think it is a pub where they microwave frozen lasagnas but what a nice surprise it was - the food was absolutely stunning and definitely did not come from a microwave. The chicken-leek pie was just amazing. Highly recommended.

Good food, and great beer! Nice friendly atmosphere, with equally friendly staff. Loved the Loweswater Gold - excellentboint, in great condition. The Lily is always a port of call when visiting Ambleside.

We visited three times just to enjoy the range of gins and to enjoy the friendly receptive atmosphere, didn't try the food, but maybe next time. A lovely place to relax.

This place has seen a number of facelifts over the years. However it has not lost its charm. The staff are great and very accomodating. The decor is really relaxed and comfortable. The extensive range of beer and spirits is very appealing. I lost count of the numbers of gin, with cucumber, lime, grapefruit, passionfruit. It all got a bit... More

As regular visitors to Ambleside with our dogs, The Lily is always on our list. Ate there on our first night and popped in for drinks most other nights. Great staff, very tasty and well presented food and a wide choice of drinks - all for a very reasonable price. Most definitely one I'd recommend and we'll be back!

Popped in early evening for tea. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, warm and welcoming. There was a main menu and a specials board and service was good. We had Camembert starter to share with olives, picked onions and walnuts which was a lovely combination. For mains I had mushroom ravioli and my partner had fish and chips. Well presented and delicious.... More
