Large portions of freshly cooked fish and chips and a mug of tea. Fish a bit greasy though. They charge you £1.00 extra per person to sit in the shop ! Saying that, very enjoyable and empty plates proved it.

My wife and I had takeaway fish & chips. The portions were generous, the quality good and all in all a very tasty meal.

We had a lovely plate of cod and chips and haddock and chips. Mushy peas and gravy were served. The batter was very light and the fish was very fresh. The young girl behind the counter gave us excellent service and made us feel welcome. The toilets were clean. Highly recommended!

Well cooked fish in a light and crispy batter, it appears from recent review history that this establishment is a divider, but I was impressed

Recommended by the 'Rocking' Reverend who was setting up his PA in the Unicorn Inn where my son and I were staying. One Fish supper, a single fish, served on plates with cutlery in the sit-down area, food was delish and all for about a tenner. Highly recommended after a long day hiking or whatever.

Food was over cooked and defiantly not worth the long wait. Overpriced for the quality and a charge to sit in. I can see why it was completely empty! I really would not recommend, especially when you can get better quality food at a more resonable price within the same area.

My local chippy , great everytime . Good value for money . Even took pictures of our food because we were so happy !! 😄😄😄 I look at some of the comments on here and I question "what?!!!" This is by far the best fish and chip shop in Ambleside and I have never had a negative experience ever !!... More

The mark of a decent chippie is the fish. We ordered fish when we entered as there were none already cooked, despite being early on a Saturday evening. The fish was cooked fresh, but was left in the fryer for 10 minutes resulting in a very dried out, even chewy fish. Avoid if you want fish. It was disgusting

Chips were under cooked and soggy. Batter on my sausage was fatty. Staff had never heard of a saveloy! and was not good value for money.
