Popped in here for a drink in the evening. Definitely a locals pub judging by the clientele. Was expensive considering it wasn't in the centre of town and the could only offer a Guinness surge rather than a proper pint of draught Guinness. Nice interior though and polite service.

We visited on a bank holiday, yet the lunchtime deals were still available. Although the portions were not huge, for the price it is still good value, and to be fair, the menu does state that the portions will be smaller. Our family had lasagne, BBQ chicken, veg lasagne, and children's pizza. Everyone was happy with the meal. The service... More

My husband and I called today for lunch, we were made very welcome and the menu had plenty of choice. We both had the soup ,it was very good with nice warm crusty bun, then I had lasagne and David had roast turkey both were very good, the parsnip crispy strips were a nice touch. We have been here on... More

Lovely pint of Hobgoblin 3/4 way round walk. Nice clean pub and toilets. Beer garden a little noisy due to being between two busy roads. Nice to enjoy some rare sunshine though

Ideal stop off when returning to the B&B: typical pub / restaurant. Pool table not ideally located; we had to circumnavigate it to get into the pub. All in all, nothing special, but a decent pint and meal.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions before the December floods! Our first visit back for Sunday lunch since the reopening was a disappointment. The lunch in itself was okay but the roast potatoes were just awful, most definitely they were a frozen potato! Pre flood we always had a beautiful Sunday lunch with gorgeous roast potatoes. Such... Came here for a roast for a change and was quite surprised! We had tried roast dinners at other places but seriously, the potatoes need sorting out, and maybe some seasoning! Apart from that the usual menu is good and the staff are so friendly. Just avoid for a roast if you want somewhere that does a decent one!
