Despite it being midweek in October this place was full from early evening through till late so expect to have to wait for a table every night. All for good reason, the food was good and range of real ales.

Nice little pub offering a range of ales but sadly lacking in good cider. Mulled wine was good. Overall a nice pub.

A superb pub in the town center with plenty of character. A real fire, oak beams (real ones!!) and dog friendly all add to the atmosphere. A good selection of beers and whilst we didn't eat here, the food we saw others eating look fabulous with good comments from the diners.

have had a drink here before but this was our first time eating in a long time. the vegetarian goulash lived up to the billing, I can understand why it's famous. not a massive veggie choice but what we had was great. brilliant choice of real ales and dog friendly.

Always good, consistent selection of beers to suit all tastes. Goulash excellent as usual. Not sure about the arrangement of tables - seem to have lost a bit of capacity having taken out long tables. Will keep coming back.

We were tempted in by the sign outside saying famed for it's goulash, we were not disappointed. We had a piping hot bowl of delicious and very filling goulash just what you needed after a hard day's walking. The pub was choc a bloc decorated with a Halloween theme. The only downside was that many of the tables only had... More

Every time we visit the pub is always busy. The goulash is excellent with a great selection of ales. Good place to visit.

Love this place but highly recommend staying away at busy times if you have a couple of dogs. It is exceptionally dog friendly with gorgeous food but is a small place and can get a bit crazy at busy times with lots of dogs in there. Well worth a visit at quieter times and dogs are made very welcome

A bit of a ritual visit for the goulash which was good as usual but other food didn't look great. The beer options are good and the place was busy on both occasions we went in, so much so that we didn't wait to eat on one occasion. No fire which was missing from previous visits.

We called in here for a small snack whilst we sheltered from the rain. The staff were super friendly and efficient, the food was nothing to write home about but it was adequate. But the mulled wine and hot spiced cider were lovely.

Thank Tony F
