Popped in to the Old Sawmill Cafe after a walk up to the two Osprey viewing points. We had a pleasent seat on one of the outside tables and had some well prepared sustenance from the cafe. The food was well cooked and well presented,...More

We stopped hear for a drink on a very hot day. It was stuffy inside but there was no shade outside. However there was a good range of soft drinks and the gluten free brownie was lovely!

Not literally, but the café does occupy a cosy nook fronting Dodd Wood beneath Skiddaw and a start point for walkers heading off to the RSPB Ospreys lookout (at the time of writing, a returning pair were rearing three chicks)! A quaint enough café on...More

We found this cafe on our traverse of Skidaw. Fabulous little place, clean, friendly staff and good snacks. The cafe is full of history information and a beautiful setting.

We had both a coffee break and lunch here and enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The choice of food and drink was broad and of a high standard. The surroundings were basic but clean and tidy. Please give it a try.

Nice lunch, ordered homemade quiche which came with a selection of salads, and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich which could have been slightly bigger for the price but nevertheless delicious.

Scone was thin and stale so crumbled when cut in half. Cream is squirty from an aerosol tin. Jam is mediocre. Coffee ok but small cup.
