Read the reviews so thought we would try. Hadn't booked but got there really early. Got a table in the bar as restaurant was booked till after 8. Very nice table, friendly staff. Food was ok but normal pub grub. Prawn cocktail was really nice but scampi & chips definitely average. I wouldn't rush back but decent pub grub

Lovely coal fire blasting out heat in the bar area. A short walk on the edge of Keswick but well worth it. Best food I've had out of any of the pubs in Keswick. Shame the beer was a bit warm though.

Very busy and popular pub. We had reserved a table luckily. The service was very good with an extensive menu. We just ordered the mains some of our party had the lamb and others had the vegetarian option. These looked very good. My wife and I both had the steak, I have got to say it was a little underwhelming... More

This was our local pub during a weeks holiday and we drank in here on a number of occasions but couldn't get seats to eat it was so busy. Food did look good and we were told it tasted as good as it looked. Book ahead.

We visited whilst in the area. 5min walk from burnside park. Only a small setting so I would definitely advise to book. Traditional pub setting. We had the black pudding croquettes and olives to start very nice portion. For mains we had shortrib of beef with horseradish mash & veg.. beef very tender.. beautiful dish. Beef madras my dad said... More

We rented a large cottage up the road for Christmas for a big family Christmas. They always say you cannot choose your family and so I cannot begin to say how much this place was a haven from moaning relatives with deep rooted issues, bickering kids and bouts of uncomfortable silence. A warm pint of Cumberland, the log fire and... More

Best to reserve a table. This fantastic pub/restaurant offers large portions of beautifully prepared food. We walked there so we could let our food digest on the way home. I have nothing bad to say about the Pheasant . If you visit make sure you are hungry.

Most evenings you need to book a table, it gets very busy with a varied menu plus there is always the specials board.

Arrived here on the 26th of November. There was roadworks _so we decided to pull off. We often visit family in this area, we have come here many times, its a glorious location and building but very grubby inside _ this time I went to the bar _ a pint of bitter and one port and Brandy _ just under...
