It is classic sort of food with a nice atmosphere. A bit hidden, but a real gem of a place. I had the eggs Benedict and would go again

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a spot to get pancakes on pancake day and I'm so glad I did! The perfect cozy, quirky spot to get a coffee and some good eats. It has a "mom and pop diner" feel to it while looking like a hipster's paradise. Definitely worth checking out for coffee, tea, and pancakes!

This place is like a little haven in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. I have been coming here for years and the owners and staff are so friendly and warm they make you feel like friends. Nothing is too much bother for them and they will failed make your orders and it's no biggy. The food is... More

We booked our Bowls Club dinner here, and had a hot and cold buffet for 40 people. The food was superb, thanks to the chef James, the atmosphere was great and we were treated to a night of Beatles vinyl. On talking to my bowls fellows later they were all impressed by the bistro and will be coming back as... More

We had our volleyball club Christmas dinner here with about 25 of us - a return visit for me, & we enjoyed the delicious food with our records (vinyls for the younger members!) playing thanks to DJ John & Carol.....for me, the spicy bean cakes were scrummy, the beef was really nice, and the pavlova spot on - thanks for... My girlfriend and I had been looking for a restaurant to host the first official meeting of our parents and were both independently recommended James Café Bistro by friends. We had no idea just how great a place it would turn out to be.... The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing with an eclectic selection of music providing a great background... More

Great food; friendly staff. Good entertainment. A really good find on a street I rarely if ever go down since the opening of the highcross. Will definitely go again.

We popped here for the second time today and as before found it one of Leicester's best cafe casual dining experiences. An extensive value menu for lunch was very kind on the pocket. Perfectly cooked pork loin with the wife having a bowl of fat muscles with tomato and bacon sauce. The food was delicious. Very fresh tasting with good... More
