Have been a frequent visitor to Atithi, who had managed to make the venue more appealing. It has reverted to it's dreary former self. Visited last week, only Carling available and that was stale. Veg starter and veg main fine but I had a supposed...fresh water prawn biriani, the presentation was good but the prawns were king prawns which had obviously been in the freezer for far too long, they were so dehydrated that they couldn't be sliced. Don't waste your time or money!More

I travelled 50 miles to train in the Peepul Centre and have a Christmas Curry with fellow students. As usual, the service, the food and the welcome at the Tamarind was excellent.

Recently returned to the restaurant after enjoying visiting before. Unfortunately the restaurant seems to have had a change of management and it is no way near as good as it used to be. It is a real shame because it was always somewhere I enjoyed...going.More

I'm glad I didn't read the last 3 reviews before we dined at this restaurant or we may have not bothered. We were so glad we did. We hired a room for a couple of days to do some interviewing and we had lunch in...this restaurant both days. We were absolutely bowled over by the quality for the price. 4 of us had a substantial lunch and a drink for under £30. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was hot and well presented. I would go so far as to say, the curry was as good as any curry I'd tasted in a restaurant at more than twice the price. All in all a really great dining experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.More

I used to love eating here & had friends who would travel down from London just for the chilli paneer. Recently I went along with a friend who had never been before, I had talked about it so much she was really looking forward to...trying it....unfortunately it was horrible! I ordered a selection of what I thought were the best dishes to all come together. The chill paneer was watery and flavourless, the aubergine stir fry just tasted gritty and deep fried, the crispy chilli was a mush of vegetables not very well cooked. I was extremely embarrassed! We left to get a takeaway from elsewhere. Such a shameMore

It was my 25th Birthday and a friend had suggested to eat at the Peepul Centre Tamarind Restaurant. We saw the restaurant in October and was pleased with the service given to me and my family and the food tasters were great. On the day...of my birthday my close friends and family all went here to celebrate with an evening meal. The food was: - tasteless - Poor customer service, most of the staff cannot speak English properly - Wrong bill adding another £75 to the bill. The manager and staff were different. When I went to complain there was no reception staff apart from a security guard sat in his chair eating restaurant food himself. This was unprofessional, they security man was busy watching youtube videos and Eating at the desk that I had at this point left with my family and ventured to Feast of India. Utterly disgusting staff and no professionalism. I would no bother with this place - go see this place for your self-absolute rubbish!!!More

Let me get the service out the way first, the only reason i didnt give this restaurant an "excellent" rating was down to the service. Dont get me wrong all the waiters and waitresses were very pleasant and nice but the service was very disorganised,...difficult to put my finger on whats wrong and the exact issue but there just doesn't seem to be any sort of training. Also the bar seems to struggle to get simple orders right, we got 4 cokes when we ordered 2, a bottle of wine when we ordered a glass, we were given a double vodka and sprite in a pint glass when we asked them to put it into a tall glass rather then a tumbler. All this aside it wasnt "terrible" service it was just very disorganised and scatty, nothing that cant be easily rectified with some training. Ok now the food, what can i say. Group of 8 and we were all impressed. We ordered starters and a massive choice, they are not really individual starters more sharing as the portion sizes are big. The crispy aubergine were especially nice. We had chilli panner, alloo chaat, puri chaat, all dishes we would order again (i cant personally comment on what the non vegetarians ordered in our group but they also said there starters were good). We didn't have much room for mains but we ordered a few dishes between us. Apparently the chicken rogan josh didn't have and tomatoes in it but the rest were really nice, well presenter, and not oily. Again the portion sizes were generous and can easily be shared. In terms of price i think its very well priced, we were pleasantly surprised and all agreed we would all happily return. They also have an open kitchen concept so you can see all the food being cooked which i really liked, however there was a bit of a canteen feel to this restaurant, which could easily be addressed by closing the curtain so you cant see into the building (hard to explain unless you been there), also the cutlery is kept in school style trays which doesn't help with the whole look. I think this place with a few tweaks could be really amazing. Main thing is the have got the food spot on in my opinion which of course is the biggest and hardest things to get right. Already looking forward to going back.More
