Ha Steve pleasure of finally getting a booking and attended on 9/4/17. Group of 7 of us. Great selection of wines, spirits and good variety on the menu. Had Greek platter and wings for starters, Sunday roast for mains and crumble for mains. Portions are good, staff are friendly and we will be going back. Perfect Sunday afternoon

First visited for a Wake, not a tearful event but a celebration of a life. The staff were polite and the service awesome. The food was pretty damn good too. Liked it so much i decided to make the journey and treat the better half, a round trip 120 miles 😀 Sunday lunchtime menu 9th April 2017, a feast. Service... More

Arrived in expectation and received a warm welcome. Really nice country pub and absolutely full. Food, however, was a disappointment. Veg were rock hard, cracking with the Roast Pork was inedible but worst of all was the Roast Lamb which was poor quality and really fatty. Roasted carrots and parsnips were rock hard too. Shame as the team were so... More

We came here for a mothers day evening dinner and have to say we were exceptionally impressed. The outdoor seating is reminiscent of pubs near the seaside and very relaxed and comfortable , it helps that your dog can pretty much go anywhere and that they supply dog bowls etc and are very tolerant. Inside was lovely and comfortable and... More

We called on a miserable wet day and received the warmest of welcomes, being seated at a lovely table in front of the log burner. The decor was smart but comfortable. A particularly nice touch were the candles and lanterns lit, which made a wet day so much more bearable! The service was second to none and the food was... More

It was nice to go to a pub that did great food and didn't have a mobile phone signal - being rather squirrelled away in Woodhouse and miles from the nearest phone mast - forcing that traditional mode of communication: the face to face spoken conversation. And there was much to talk about in the form of the big menu... More

We took trip advisors "advice" and as we had no idea when the 9 of us would arrive we just dropped in. They were able to accommodate us at a nice table together. The service was excellent and drinks and superb food were served up very quickly which surprised us a little as they were very busy. We will be... More

A picturesque pub-style restaurant offering British classics, such as meat pies, with their related beer. The interior design is full of little details such as fun messages.

Popped in to reserve an area for 13 for a 21st birthday meal 4 weeks before, and the pub kindly offered to help decorate a separate dining area that they said could accommodate our party, also happy to bring out a cake we were arranging Arrived and was shown to the area, the place looked quite busy on a Saturday... Lovely sunday lunch and great value for money. Staff attentive and working their socks off. Pigeon starter and chateaubriand main just gorgeous. Rosaries lovely as was the veg. Would have liked more roast parsnips and carrots as we had two between us. Dogs are welcome here and I love dogs but at one table their dog continually barked and they... More
