The Good Earth is one of the best Chinese restaurants in London and undoubtedly the best restaurant in Mill Hill. It's not cheap. But the food is second to none

Our usual special occasion venue being closed, apparently indefinitely, we were driven to The Good Earth. The reception was more friendly than one expects as new customers in London, and the service attentive, except for a hiatus in the middle of the meal after we had been given hot crockery for the main course but wondered whether we had been... Having eaten at this restaurant previously - where the food is excellent - we decided to book its private suite upstairs for our daughter's special birthday - we were not disappointed. Having chosen the menu in advance together with wine etc the service given to our guests was superb - always a smile from Kam and his team. The private... More

Dined here recently with friends on a very busy Saturday evening. The service to be fair, was ok ish. We were seated at probably the worst table (near the front door). Asked for another table, but got the impression they are saved for regular favourite customers. No other table available. Take it or leave it attitude. As for the food,... More

Visited recently. We eat Chinese every week either locally or in town & have a lot of experience on this cuisine and are always open to try recommended local Chinese restaurants. Although the food was very good here, (but not the best we've had), the portions were very small & prices were extortionate for a local restaurant. You can pay... More

Visited here recently, and myself and my friend being both vegetarian and (him) vegan, we were really happy with the amount of non meat containing dishes on the menu. It wasn't your bog standard 'vegetables in sauce', they had beautiful soya and tofu dishes in various sauces, paper hot pot, soups etc. The service was excellent and we didn't have... More

My family and friends were looking forward to eating really good Chinese food. The reviews for this restaurant were very promising. But in reality, in terms of flavour, it was quite a let down. Or maybe it is a set of new Chinese flavours that I need to acquire. Definitely didn't taste like any Chinese I have eaten in Beijing,... More

Had a very pleasant meal here, prompt service and very good food. All is good until you consider value for money. We ordered two starters and three mains plus rice and a vegetable dish and drank Jasmine tea. The final bill was £100.80 (including service). Considering our choices were well prepared versions of classic dishes available in most Chinese restaurants... More

I've been coming here for years and years, both for sit down meals and takeaways. The food is the usual choice western dishes of sweet and sour chicken and lemon chicken etc but they do it very well. If you want to take a chance on something try the scallops cooked in a clay pot which is a tasty and... More

A classy up market chinese restaurant. This is the sort of place for an aniversary or special occasion. The food and service are both excellent with some interesting dishes, not on your run of the mill chinese restaurant menus.

Description
Traditional Chinese restaurant situated in Knightsbridge popular with locals as well as business types and the shopped out from Harrods. The decor is all oriental splendour and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. What's cooking? Traditional Chinese fare. Signature dishes include crispy fragrant duck, steamed seabass and mixed seafood platter. Plenty of vegetarian choices with faux chicken and prawn dishes and a monk's casserole - a mixture of preserved and fresh vegetables cooked in a clay pot.
