Tucked away beside a renovated square it has a nice ambiance especially in the summer when you can sit outside and keep an eye on your children playing in the square. The prices are on the high side and locals often bring their own drink.

And for today, well, what can I say? What a smashing find. Came in for just a beer and decided to stop for a course or two of dinner. And WHAT a dinner! We had the venison which, without doubt, was the best I've ever eaten; ever! Hung well and cooked to perfection too. The staff her are smashing too.... More

Enjoyed the whole experience of my first visit. Staff are friendly, ambience good, music to my taste and food was excellent. I can recommend the venison, superb.

A friend and I found this pub as it features in a song that we heard at a music festival and got talking to the bloke who wrote it. We came here to put a face to the name, 'Finbar'. Apparently he's a regular but we never found him. The pub has always got a remarkable atmosphere and is a... More

Literally round the corner from me although this was my first ever visit. Was googling where to get a roast dinner at 3pm on a Sunday and we found this place . I have to say , this was the BEST Sunday roast I've ever had in a pub . Portions were big , didn't scrimp on the meat ,... More

A pleasant local pub, so called in with brother in law for a pint. Only three and the one selected ran out. The follow evening called in for dinner. Menu as one might expect pub grub. One of the party turned up slightly late, the result was that they received their meal well after everybody as the waitress had failed... More

For what we went there for , drinks , it was great . Sat outside at the picnic tables on a sunny day , inside was nice as well . From other reviews I was waiting for the staff to live up to other reviews but were great for the most part . Jugs of Pimms were great , staff... More

This is a popular neighbourhood pub. It's in a great location and is spacious. The tapas menu is good value and fresh and tasty. The faults of the place are the service: 1. Music. I don't care for solely the The Cure or the Smiths played in rotation at loud volume. The CD stuck and it took ages for someone... More

We were told we had to leave because our baby cried for less than two minutes. Another customer then came and spoke to us abusively, as though the pubs anti children policy validated all kinds of discrimination. I thought my experience this evening was bad but after reading countless reviews on Facebook and others here, it is abundantly clear that... More
