I work nearby and must come here at least once a week when I'm not travelling. Having lived in Spain and tried a variety of other Spanish restaurants in London (Brindisa, Dehesa, Barrafina, Lobos, Las Ramblas), I can say that Mar I Terra delivers the...More

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for some time so picked this for a dinner with the sprog before she gets too old to be seen out with her old dad. This is a fairly small intimate restaurant which even on a cold February...More

Good value, lovely food - we picked about 12-15 dishes between 4 of us. Able to chat, because no load muzak. Couple of nice bottles of wine. A perfect evening with friends. Will definitely be going back.

I enjoyed a very good meal with my wife and 5 year old daughter. The staff including the owner were very helpful in finding us a table close to 8 PM on a Saturday, when we hadn't made a reservation. The highlights were the lentils,...More

A real find hidden down a small street close to Southwark tube. From the bread and house-marinated olives to the turron with a Moscatel shot and cortados, we thought everything we had was delicious but not at all pretentious. We ordered mainly vegetarian tapas including...More

Food very average and did not seem particularly fresh - a weak interpretation of the true tapas experience. Restaurant looks tired - could do with some re-decoration. For the same price, there are much better options elsewhere.

We walked here from the West End to find a restaurant that wasn't in a corporate chain and ended up here. Had a nice welcome into a lively typically Spanish bar/ restaurant and although we hadn't booked and it was a Saturday night were found...More

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Booked online and received very warm welcome on arrival. Initially seated upstairs but asked to move to a table downstairs when available and was moved 5 mins later. The restaurant was really busy and the atmosphere was brilliant. Ordered a bottle of...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest
