They initially didn't have the special advertised on the table (no big deal). Pizzas came down after a half an hour, burnt around the edges but freezing cold, no exaggeration - could have just come from a fridge, waiter came down, we advised same - no apology just "they will have to cook from scratch", we asked for jug of... Tables and glasses were very dirty. Seemed rushed. Food tastes ok. Not the usual Pizza express standards all round

Have visited this restaurant many times over the years and it has always been reasonably priced for the area, and the food was always good. However, this time whilst the food lived up to expectations the smell of the place was off putting. Its main eating area is in the basement and unfortunately they were having a problem with the... Had a meeting cancel and ended up with a few minutes for lunch. Snagged a pepperoni classic pizza (really good) and a couple of ginger beers. Service was terrific and was able to get in/out in short order.

There is a lot of seating space (don't worry if it looks full, there is a basement which more than enough space) and the deals at Pizza Express are great!

I love pizza express, it never fails to disappoint even when I try new things on the menu! You can always find deals online like 30% off and free dessert when you get a side and a main and if you're on o2 priority then even better £5 mains!! (Not to forget NUS student discount) Lasagne is so nice and... More

I eat at this Pizza Express a few times a year, whenever I'm in London. This last experience was disappointing. Seated quickly because it was already near 9pm, but took too long for a menu and a the first glass of wine. The water never showed up. Pizza came out - taking longer than usual - and it was wrong.... Although the price was high for a reasonably small pizza this restaurant is one of the cheaper in the area. The ambiance is good, a pleasant place to eat, some nice artwork. If you want to eat cheap in Leadenhall market this is an option.

The food was fine, same as every other Pizza Express I have been to. The service was surprisingly pushy though, way more than normal.

We needed somewhere to have an informal team lunch, so 5 of us went to pizza express in leadenhall. On arriving we said we had a booking. The gruff response 'downstairs'. So down into the basement we went. It was really noisy and busy, with tables crammed in. Hard to hear conversation and service was just ok. Staff didn't look... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
