Whilst the servers are lovely this restaurant is not up to par with anything in the area.
My partner and I booked a table for a Friday night well over a week before attending. We arrived on time for our table to be told they...did not have space for us outside and we would have to wait at least half an hour to get a seat. We decided to take a seat inside to avoid the wait and were taken all the way to the back of the restaurant and seated right next to the toilets.
Once seated no one came to our table for 15 minutes to take any drink orders and then had to wait another 20 to receive them. We ordered a glass of wine and a pint of beer! The staff seemed to forget about us the moment we walked in.
The food service was extremely slow, taking 50 minutes for our starters to arrive. Once we were finished with them we were then offered the dessert menu even though we hadn’t received our mains. It took a total of an hour and 45 minutes from ordering to eventually get our mains which were clearly forgotten by the kitchen.
We proceeded to order another round of drinks which once again took 20 minutes to arrive, but they only turned up with one of them and decided then to tell us they had run out of beer and were not able to accommodate. All of the drinks arrived warm as I imagine they had been sat on the side of the bar for 20 minutes before anyone decided to deliver them.
On top of the terrible restaurant experience the food was average at best and definitely not worth the 2 hours wait!
In short, this was my first and last visit to Yum Sa.More
We were tempted in by Alfredo and his spring rolls at the front of the restaurant…. And so glad we visited. Wow! This restaurant’s food is gorgeous. The chicken penang and Duck Tom Kha soup were outstanding. Great ambience. We were served by the lovely...Tate, who’s service we can’t fault. We will be back! :)More
Having visited Yum Sa on previous occasions, I'm yet to be disappointed and still love it!
I had the privilege of being attended to by Diana. It was rather wonderful to acknowledge her passion and enthusiasm for mixology, which made the dining experience...all the better. For the more innovative or experimental drinker, Diana certainly knows her stuff! Her "Grenessy" creation was fabulous! Highly recommended indeed. As for the classics, the consistency of her Vesper Martini was excellent too!
Starter - The Tiger prawns sufficed in terms of portion size and were well-flavoured.
Main - For the seafood and spice lovers, I'd give the Seafood Krapao a whirl. You really will not be disappointed! Packed with a variety of ingredients, this dish was colourful, enticing, and truly flavoursome. You may need to request this variation - however, the staff are great and will kindly accommodate.More
