went here for lunch on the first hot day of spring. Fantastic salt marsh lamb main course , good service , and everybody basically really liked it. Had a couple of bottles of decent Italian wine as well and some delicious cheese. Also v comfortable upstairs. Would have no problem recommending this place.

Had a coffee with a good friend at Manicomio on Gutter Lane; it's a quiet hidden wee gem near St Pauls. The coffee is very flavoursome compared to the boring High St brands. Fair priced compared to those other types of 'cafes' also. The takeaway lunch options looked great, and my friend endulged - saying that it was fantastic

I usually go to the take away/deli section so this was my first time eating in the main restaurant & it didn't disappoint. I had a great squid ink pasta that was so divine. Manicomio has always had good food to go so I definitely recommend going in for a sit down lunch or dinner ordered a la carte

This is a relatively new restaurant with an Italian focus in the menu. The food is very good. I found the pasta with Tuscan sausage to be excellent and the apple and salted caramel tart also. Portions are more nouvelle cuisine than man sized. Surroundings are robustly modern and the sound level can become quite high when the room is... More

We walked through the downstairs cafe which was packed out and very noisy up to the restaurant which was also packed. It seems very much a businessman/woman's restaurant but it is in the city of London so to be expected. Absolutely all the men were wearing business suits and the women were in smart business attire. It's modern, soulless and... More

It tastes good, but there's not a lot of it! It's expensive for what it is and there are dozens of better cheaper options within 5 mins walk. The take out salad bar is good value for money.

I had lunch here and then dinner that eve (at one of the Brass.... Blanc places) and your place knocks that place out of the water for flavours on a plate. I loved every single mouthful and will definitely be back soon. This place is awesome! Amazing food (great chef or chefs) and a great setting. Really good service too!... More

We ordered the festive lunch which wasn't bad value for the City / £47 for 3 courses. The venue was very unfestive and loud but the food was good.

I've returned many times to this fabulous restaurant, and every time I arrive at the busy ground floor entrance, I brim with anticipation. Always bustling, with a great atmosphere: our group of 23 were taken to our tables on the first floor, immediately having our wine glasses filled to wash down the delicious focaccia with Sicilian olive oil. The beautifully... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
