If you want a bit of 'posh dining' then you should visit Shepherds. Very efficient staff giving excellent service. A good menu and a tad on the pricey side as you would expect for a restaurant in Westminster.

First time at Shepherd's and not disappointed. Atmosphere is superb, nicely lit and a superb bar area on arrival. A well designed menu, not too many dishes but covering all the key bases. Food was extremely fresh, we started with cured sea trout followed by a whole plaice. Beautifully presented. Some interesting sorbets for dessert, elderflower was brilliant. Finally, a... More

Great location in the heart of Westminster, now with an awesome Early Bird menu at a great price. See photo. Tables are well presented, staff are polite and efficient. Always a notch above the rest:-)

We walked to this restaurant from a hotel near Westminster Bridges along the River Thames. It was pleasant walk with the river view and tall trees along the path. We found this restaurant to be quiet for a nice chat and the surrounding area looked to be quiet and safe residential area. The menu is rather simple and the price... More

Shepherd's was recommended to me by a friend and the place exceeded my expectations. I understand that the whole place has been refurbished and the decor is very elegant. Even though it was a Monday lunchtime I was surprised how busy the restaurant was the atmosphere was very good. The staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive. I ordered a... More

Brilliant dinner - "The Shepherd's Pie" strongly recommended. Very friendly and efficient team. This is an ideal place for dinner. Service is first class, including dealing with my tight time commitments and consequent forgetfulness over my receipt and card (thanks for telephoning me about this).

Immediate impressions are good, nicely furnished and decorated with friendly service. Food was good, and attentive staff (we were there early evening) - a relaxed and pleasant venue.

6 out of 5 ! What a great little corner of Westminster. All 3 courses were excellently prepared and delivered. A multitude of gastronomic flavours. Service was attentive and helpful. Nice break between courses. None of the rushing you experience in so many restaurants. Worth every penny. Including 10% service charge.

We were there to celebrate two birthdays and the birthday boy and girl loved every minute of the experience. The greeting on arrival (on a wet day) was warm and friendly. Despite being 20-minutes early we were shown straight to our table. Our waitress was again warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The waitress kept our water glasses topped... More

The decor is devine - luxury but modern and the food is exquisite. We had cockles to start and they were the perfect British moules mariner followed by the special of veal... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
