Very well maintained restaurant. Although not so widely spaced with small tables for 2, the atmosphere was very cosy and warm. The food was very well prepared with excellent seasonal ingredients. Some of the dishes that made an impression were: the grilled bread with anchovies,...the charred leeks with an extremely rich and tasty stracciatella cheese, the aged duck and the wood fired greens.More

Had a great time at BRAT. Would like to go back again to try more of their dishes. Staff were great and explained the menu really well. They all knew what they were talking about. All the dishes were very well flavoured ad tasted amazing....Simple décor but worked well, liked seeing the food being made in the kitchen. We tried to have a mix of things: Roasted oysters Grilled bread with Girolle & St Helena Lamb Chop Lemon Sole Mallard Wood roasted greens Red peppers Burnt Cheesecake & pear Champagne & White wine & Rose Top faves were the red pepper, lamb chop and grilled bread Oysters were nothing to write about and may have even been better raw but this may be a personal preference. Going to go back again to try the Turbot for sure!More

Had one of my best dinners ever in London at Brat! Everything was incredible, from the starters (even the bread with anchovies is amazing) to the mains and the burnt cheesecake. Good wines selection too - highly recommend the Portuguese vinho verde and the Austrian...red. We had the lemon sole which was super fresh and tasty and the duck, which was also amazing. Price is also a steal for a Michelin starred restaurantMore

Great service and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the ribs ! We were 4 adults and we had 4 appetizers and 3 mains plus dessert. The servers were friendly and gave great advice. Would love to eat here again!

Surprise visit expecting something else, hearing of a recently acquired Michelin accolade tends to bring out the fussy critic and hyper vigilance of a quasi-professional critic in many, myself included. But this was a really exceptional meal. The informality of both the dining room and...service was appreciated and it was good to see staff treated well and eating in proximity to diners. Shared a meal that could easily have fed more people and enjoyed it. Most enjoyable was sharing a table (at a comfortable distance) with a pair of diners enjoying their experience in equal measure but for different reasons.More

Went to Brat at Climpsons Arch with our family (children all in 20’s). So much of restaurant enjoyment is about expectations, and this is not a neat, delicate classic fine dining restaurant. It has dirt floors, is loud, buzzy and busy. We loved it. The...food was delicious. Interesting flavours, creative and cooked traditionally. It is all about flavour. Wonderful evening. Strong wine list too of really interesting wines at less crazy prices than most Michelin starred restaurants.More

I've seen a number of trash reviews for here recently and they just don't seem fair to me. We had a faultless experience start to finish. Outstanding explanation and recommendations from our server, David. A really friendly and relaxed approach and he seemed genuinely interested...to talk to us about our experience and offer additional info on things like the provenance of produce. Our plates were delivered in an order I'm guessing the chef decided on and paced to perfection so as each dish was cleared another came to replace it seamlessly and without feeling rushed. The food, while I agree with a number of reviews that it was quite heavily seasoned, the seasoning was visible sea salt, so just don't eat it. A number of the plates we had were sublime. Highlights were the crab toast, the lamb chop and cod roe. All excellent and a great variety of flavour profiles, I was slightly nervous everything would be smoky or charred but great acidity and balance through every dish. Anyone who is complaining about portions, they either fixed this or you are crazy. We ordered 6 small plates and one main between 2 hoping to have dessert and ended up leaving so full we nearly fell asleep on the tube home. I would be disappointed about missing dessert as it looked amazing but I guess it just means I have to come again soon. What a shame. Great food, lovely service, good atmosphere, very good value. Thanks to the team for a fantastic lunch.More

The food is average. Definite lack of service and food quality compared to recent experience of eating out at high end restaurants inc a Michelin star in Wales. The spacing of tables is zero. A table of ten basically was 5 separate couples. No screens...btw. Some waiters had masks under chins. No privacy re conversation - our neighbours less than 50 cm away. Table gap of 5 cm. Food indifferently servec - and really no better than our local gasrropub. Long wait between service. Veg sides turning up before main course. Really poor....... Expected more, not tablecloths or anything fancy. Just great food and service. Worst thing is feeling just like revenue. Local pub atmosphere, not restaurant, let alone a Michelin star.More
