We have visited Browns for afternoon tea twice before. It is expensive but we knew that that's why we only come for special occasions. Unfortunately on this occasion it was a little disappointing. We were seated immediately but weren't altogether happy with the table just inside the door, we did ask if they had another table but they said no.... More

Positives - staff, atmosphere and didn't keep us to the allotted time. Negatives - all of the food was disappointing and nowhere the quality of other equivalent priced afternoon teas. Scones particularly disappointing. Hence not good value.

The sandwiches were nice but the scones and desserts were even better (sorry, very sweet tooth here lol). lovely and calm atmosphere, the guy playing the piano was great, made the whole atmosphere better (without him there, not sure would have been the same!!).They have... We had a very nice and relaxing afternoon tea at Brown's hotel. The English Tea Room has a great atmosphere, very well suited for a traditional afternoon tea. Sandwiches, scones, and pastries were delicious, and we could have as much as we wanted. Service was very good. Our only complaint is the cost of an extra glass of champagne: 20... More

The service, comfort and food/teas were all exceptional. We could have ordered as much more of anything that we wanted but did not have space for extras.

We had tea at Brown's on the afternoon of March 24 for my birthday. I had been eagerly anticipating the experience for a couple of months. It did not disappoint. From our reception until our departure, all of the staff was quite lovely to us. As we were finishing, I mentioned that it was a birthday treat for myself, and... More

Sorry but this was a bit disappointing. I think it is time for a new carpet in the tea room. I do not think the Hotel Inspector would be impressed. Compared to the other top London hotels the service here was poor. We were not sure who was serving us and whilst afternoon tea is not to be rushed the... More

My daughter and I had been looking forward to this treat for a number of weeks, but felt disappointment with the service and food that was on the Traditional menu. We have had afternoon tea here four times now and yes, we have, seen a slight going down in the quality of food and the service. We did not have some reviewers experience of terrible service; in fact the service was very good. However the food served was not 'quite up to scratch' All was ok but my home made... More
