Paid just under £11 for a cereal bowl size portion of boiled white rice with vegetable stew. The stew tasted ok - but was not a. it was underheated - too cold and b. most of the bowl was just boiled white rice - the amount of stew was far too small - in short, a rip-off.

The Gallery is in great shape but not the café/bar. At least not on my last visit. Service was slow even though there were not many customers. When my (very nice) open sandwich eventually arrived it was followed a few minutes later by a course I hadn't ordered anf five minutes after that by another course I hadn't ordered. It... More

Not having used the Cafe before I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food.I had a smoked salmon open sandwich on toasted bread with cream cheese and some accompanying leaves. It was delicious but another piece of bread would have made it even better. The portion was not over generous! An excellent chocolare brownie plus 2 nice coffees brought the... More

What a nice coffee in a great space. Just a little cafe near the front of the building. Well worth a visit as excellent service. Bill comes in a little glass for you to pay into. Awesome !

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
