We had Afternoon Tea today at the Swan and it was excellent. We had a Buyagift voucher that was bought for my husbands birthday and sometimes when using a voucher you are not treated very nicely. But the service was great, our Waiter was soo polite and helpful, we had a wonderful selection and really enjoyed out visit

We had dinner here prior to the show. It was community table style dining. It was very enjoyable. It was a bit more expensive but well worth it.

Just amazing - don't eat for a day before you go! We had a window seat overlooking the Thames on a sparklingly hot summer afternoon, with a booking for afternoon tea. Initially horrified by the price charged, by the time we left, groaning, we could see that we had definitely got what we had paid for! Service - excellent! Food... More

SIx of us came here for a drink after eating in a local restaurant. It is not cheap but given the location overlooking the river, that is entirely understandable. The music they were playing was excellent (certainly to all us 50+ in our party) and there was a great atmosphere.

The food was melt in the mouth from the starter right through to the desert. The staff service was fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely recommend going here, the restaurant has an added bonus of having a spectacular the view over Thames.

My brother and his wife had been here a few weeks before our trip to London and posted a picture on Facebook so after that I knew I had to go here. We got to the bar about 3pm which was very busy and coming through the wrong door we were shown where to go get a table. The lovely... More

We have been lucky enough to frequent this establishment on numerous occasions. Over the course of 2016 we had eaten here around a dozen times and haven't been disappointed until now. In January we had an appalling Sunday lunch with chewy , tough and inedible roast beef , but being typically British , we didn't complain and gave it the... More

The food here was excellent, couldn't of asked for more. The desserts we had were amazing, I can recommend the vanilla rice pudding. The service was also great, our waiter was very attentive.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
