Found this place on the basis of reviews and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is quite small, basic in decor, the menu is not extensive and it is not licensed, but you can 'bring your own'. The service was excellent, the staff very helpful...More

Usually we're Meraz's biggest fans. We always go for currys here and have introduced a number of friends to the place. We ordered a take-away and were very disappointed. Whilst the Korma was of the quality to be expected, the Sag Ponir was watery and...More

Thanks for a great diner. We (Group of five from Holland) ate lamb and chicken curry. The waiter helped choosing from the menue. Gave great advise and explained about the spices used in Indian cuisine. High Quality Indian Food. Love to come back again!

Food was bland an unremarkable. Servers were rude and inattentive. Have had much better Indian food elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Dropped in last night for pre-gig Biryanis and they were delicious. I had the Chicken Tikka and wife had Veg. Perfect heat and spice. Good chat with the house too.

At first we were attracted to the very cool and modern restaurant, decorated unlike the common Indian Places on Brick Lane. On the menue, few dishes, carefully chosen. We loved the food, fresh, made for order. No thick sauces that fill you up, but smaller...More

I visit this lovely little cafe with groups of friends after taking them on guided walks around the area. Jaded by the food and service in Brick Lane I discovered this little gem a few years ago. It has been in the same hands for...More

Meraz Cafe is a great find, off the main drag, unpretentious, with great food and friendly staff. I’d recommend it if you want an authentic meal away from the hustle of the guys in Brick Lane

The Meraz philosophy has not changed since 1974, it remains one of respect for cooking tradition, from which is born a consistency and an aversion to fads that is greatly appreciated by all. A respect for the patron's palate and comfort, innovating and striving to bring the best in service, atmosphere and presentation, and a passion for introducing Handi Cooked Foods to an ever growing audience.Unusual for Brick Lane, Meraz encourages BYOB.
