Had lunch at the Golden Union. In short - it was excellent! The fish was really fresh, perfectly cooked and service was just as you would expect. It is just off Oxford Street and therefore seems to attracts a mainly tourist trade, but hardened locals will find this well worth a visit too!

Their prices are a bit high compared to their service and menus. You can also find the same flavor elsewhere.

I'm no expert, but it's the best fish and chips I have had. I loved the haddock, and the others preferred the cod. Great service.

We went there for dinner and surely servings were huge. Fish was rather tasty and homemade chips were really good. What I didn't like though, was the amount of crumbing on that fish. At both ends there was almost no fish at all, just crumbing. It was a bit annoying, but apart from that the meal was ok. I had... More

Have never been disappointed with the quality of the fish or chips, good sized fish, plenty of chips and a pickled onion, have not found a better chippe in London.

Was looking for a good "local" spot for fish and chips and was recommended to this place. It did not disappoint! Portions were great and the cod was cooked perfect and the batter was light and crispy!

Decent portions of a variety of fish, cod, haddock and sustainable varieties. Love the tartare sauce (order one portion to share). Friendly service for a sit-down meal. (Not a late-night place for after-pub munching though.)

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
