The staff were helpful, personable and flexible, the food selection on offer and quality was very good and they were happy to make adjustments. There was a good choice of beers which were well kept. All you can ask of a good English pub.

What tim does the downstairs dining area open? I am thinking of booking lunch here for a group of around 7-8 people but we don't want to have to shout over each other in a noisy bar
