After a long day of sightseeing we came out of the Tower Bridge underground station to see The Minories. Kids were welcome inside so we took a seat. Like many pub style restaurants, you must order with the bartender, not a server. Fish and chips were good. Getting off of our feet was better. For a pub it was quiet... More

Nice historic pub in the city of London. Close her to Tower of London and St Katherine's Dock. Pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere. Only dislike is the wine was not chilled to its correct temperature.

I liked this place despite it being under train lines 'in the arches' so a tad noisy as the trains crossed overhead. The place had some real character i thought. Good choice of ales, sadly over £5 a pint. Average food range but again London prices so £11 for my fish, chips & peas. Not a large meal either. However... More

Staying overnight in the area we decided to eat here for dinner, despite it being in the heart of the city district the pub was extremely busy for a Saturday night but this didn't detract from the atmosphere or quality of the food. I went for one of their burgers and it was massive and very well priced. Would eat... More

We popped in for a pre evening drink as we were staying at the Travelodge, very nicely situated near the twer of London and tower bridge. away from the crowds but you can still see the landmarks, clean dark and lots of seating areas, you can order food ranging from breakfast to dinner. A nice quite place for a well... More

Went solo to watch the football one Tuesday night. Nice pub, setting, atmosphere. Big problem getting served at the bar though. Took an age. Only 2 serving, 1 of which felt no urgency despite the growing discontent around him. Food itself was quick to arrive and nice enough. Gave up on attempt to get third drink... couldn't wait any longer.... More

It was a very cool pub, sitting across from the Tower of London. The fish and chips were good. You must order at the bar, then find your table. The staff was very friendly. It's a great place for lunch or a quick bite while touring London.

Stopped in here for drinks a few times while in London. Nice atmosphere. Great beers. Outside seating is available. Good English Pub. I didn't eat here, so I can't comment about the food. Short walk up the hill from the Tower - so it is a good place to grab a beer away from the tourist crowd.

Was meeting a friend for a few drinks and decided to pop in here as I was staying nearby. Good selection of beers on tap and much bigger than it looks from the outside. Prices good for London. Plenty of flat screens around for watching sport. We also ate from the menu - 30 chicken wings to share then a... More

We dropped in after getting off the hop on hop off tourist bus. The location to the London tower is fantastic. The food here was exceptional for a pub or any food for that matter. The building itself is really neat and below the train. Great selection of beer/drinks.

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
