I have taken friends, colleagues and clients to this restaurant and it's never failed to impress. Firstly and most importantly the food is consistently excellent with the head chef's influence clearly evident. That's what you expect in Italian food after all! The service is wonderfully...traditional, with staff who are attentive, actually remember what you ordered and even your preference on drinks. Pleasingly witty menu gives a welcome chuckle and I recommend "Honey, I Truffled the Crocchetta". The atmosphere is a wonderful mix of nostalgia and modernity, both finished off with class. Downstairs is particularly interesting with curtained-off up-lit tables should you be needing some intimacy. Undoubtedly will return and would thoroughly recommend to all.More

We went to Gloria last night as part of a girls weekend and we had the best night! We were running 20 minutes late and they kindly kept our table for us despite them being super busy and fully booked. We were made to feel...so welcome the moment we arrived, the restaurant was beautiful and had such a lovely relaxed vibe despite how busy it was. We ordered some bonfire mojitos made with fig purée which were delicious, and shared some focaccia, olives and yummy buratta and basil pesto to start. The mains however were delicious, I had the girella con ragu which was amazing, and the girls had pizzas which were equally as delicious. Just when we thought we had peaked, we ordered the dolce vetta and lemon meringue pie for pud … it was soooooo good! The lemon meringue was huge so I’m glad we shared but anyone who comes to Gloria has to have the meringue! So I just want to say thank you to every single one of the staff at Gloria, they were all fabulous and just added to the most perfect weekend. Cannot wait to come back!More

2022-Nov 16th. 9:30pm booked a table as this beautiful place. We flew from a two different countries(myself &my friend) to catch up for my bday dinner @Gloria-London. When booked a table left a friendly note that it’s my bday. Was sitting there all evening and...following one after another cake with the candles that been going from the kitchen towards to the other tables but non on mines. Felt really disappointed and upset as in the end of the dinner even mentioned for the waitress that it’s my bday and he didn’t react either. This year I am experiencing divorce and were really desperate to make a bday wish. However, this situation left a shame and a bitter bday dinner taste in my mouth for me and my friend. Details are matter. Table #24More

We visited the restaurant, 8 guests for a friends birthday and had to get the set menu! The service was really good, thank you specifically to Ben for helping us out. However the food was not great! Starters were tasty, but then we had to...wait over an hour for mains. When mains came, they lacked taste! They were bland and needed salt! They were really disappointing to eat and just didn't have much taste. We then had tiramisu, pistachio ice cream and lemon meringue pie for dessert - the only nice one was the ice cream but we then found 2 long strands of hair in the ice cream which was so disappointing. Worst thing they could have happened! We did get some money off and free drinks but this was so disappointing considering that the food wasn't 10/10.More

Gloria had been on our list of restaurants to visit for quite some time but unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations at all. Whilst the decor is beautiful and the restaurant itself is ‘Instagram worthy’ the food was quite the opposite. Although...the waiter was pleasant and friendly, we did find that he was upselling, instantly pushing cocktails and starters even though we were going straight to mains. I ordered the truffle pasta and my partner had the truffle pizza. The pizza was okay but nothing special. The pasta was absolutely awful! It was sauce with a side of pasta and was flavourless and awful. Unfortunately the waiter did not check back in to ask how the food was so I was unable to pass on this feedback during my time in the restaurant. I felt like they had microwaved the sauce and plopped a few pasta pieces in. This feeling came from the flavourless fish and the food appearing in a concerning quick time. I am not sure why tables are so hard to get at this restaurant, as combined with the satisfactory food is price tag not reflective of the standard of food. We had booked to take our friends to Gloria to celebrate a special occasion and have also cancelled this as a result because we do not want to experience this again.More

Thank you Gloria team for a wonderful evening! We booked last minute and god knows how we were able to get a table on a Saturday night for two, considering it was visibly fully booked - but we did! The entire experience was faultless. We...were waited on by the most attentive and friendly staff, especially the fabulous woman who was on our table and attended to every need (even foresaw ones before we knew what we needed!) The food is beyond delicious. Focaccia was fresh and spongey, it melted in the mouth and you wanted to mop up every last morsel with oil and balsamic. Olives firm and tangy. The cacio e pepe was rich and silky, the sauce was thick and creamy, perfectly seasoned and cooked, the ideal portion size that left you full and satisfied. The restaurant was busy but the staff were not rushed off their feet. This is proper hospitality, and how other restaurants should aim to function. Every single detail from the music to the hand painted plates was considered, and faultless. I had a better meal here than I have done in actual Italy! We cannot wait to come back, bring friends, and try the other Big Mamma restaurants. Gloria is an absolute credit to the team and I have never had such a fantastic experience for such an affordable price! Great wine, great food, great atmosphere, cocktails to start, and service charge for two was £100!More

This was my third time visiting your restaurant and the food was again delicious! Our waiter was also super friendly and attentive and knew the menu inside out, so he was great to recommend dishes we hadn’t tried - love it when that happens! However,...your FOH staff are quite rude, abrupt and not at all hospitable or accommodating. I arrived before my friend did and on the way to our table the FOH pushed another diner’s chair in so that we could get past - there was no “excuse me, do you mind moving your chair”…. And I was left to walk past the other diner apologising for the inconvenience while the FOH walked on as if she did nothing. Quite disappointing to see as I’m sure the other diner’s meal / experience was ruined! I’d go for the food… the food and waiting staff are simply brilliant… but I’d rather not encounter the FOH!More

I visited this place for lunch with my wife and our 17 old month baby Place looks gorgeous from the outside and we have driven past many times and always wanted to come here We went in and were asked by a lady if we...had a reservation. We did not. It was around 12.30 pm. We were told the place was fully booked and without a reservation there was nothing she could do. She said there would be spaces around 3pm. She was not polite at all. We were told bookings can be made online. As we were having this discussion a few people came in and went passed us saying they had a reservation but the lady did not check to see a confirmation email or booking We said thank you and left. I went online to book for 3pm and found that they did in fact have many tables available to book. So I booked a table for 12.45pm. We went back and showed our booking confirmation for 12.45pm to the same lady we had spoken to previously and to our shock she it was fully booked and they were under staffed and that my booking confirmation did not correlate with her system and that we would not be allowed in. We asked why and the lady said she had told us that there were no spaces available and why did we go out and book online. We sensed a discriminatory energy and asked to see someone in charge and she replied that she was in fact in charge of the whole place. We asked again why we cannot be allowed in and she was adamant that the place was full, which it wasn't and they had no staff to serve us. At this point, another colleague stepped in, Apologised on her colleagues behalf and immediately offered us multiple available tables. We sat down and the rest of the experience with staff, service and food was great. Such an obvious display of unprofessional bias and dare I say Islamaphobic behaviour. My wife wears a scarf. I really hope this wasn't the reason we were refused entry The lady offered no apology and seemed upset we were there for the whole time we were there Really disappointed.More

I have booked this place one month in advance to take my friend who came to visit me. I did expect the food to be much better. The ambience is nice but quite loud. The starter was good but the bread was dry. My pasta...with ragu and ricotta was good but my friend s pasta was nothing special. We had the lemon merengue for desert it was huge and not what one would expect at an Italian restaurant which is meant to be authentic. The espresso was not up to standard. Which is not what you expect at an Italian restaurant. The waiter brought us the starter after 5 minutes and as soon as we finished he asked if he could bring the main course right away. He said the booking is for one hour but on the booking confirmation it said 1.5 hours. I wouldn’t go again and do not recommend .More

The food, bar the pizzas, was okay. The desserts, especially the lemon meringue, were very good. However, we noticed that a lot of the cutlery was old and chipped. The service left a lot to be desired. No one explained that you were supposed to...access the menu via your phone by scanning a code. Then, when I asked for the bill, I was rudely told to “Scan your phone for it. It’s easy.” The waiter walked off without another word. It’s very presumptuous to say it’s “easy” to someone who’s not good with technology. I know for a fact that some of the elderly would struggle with this, and my phone battery was low. Further, you can’t take off the 12.5% service charge that is automatically added to the bill, which in this case was not deserved... Based on this, and the rudeness of the staff member, we would not dine here again.More

The food was mediocre, nothing memorable. The staff was rude when I asked where I could put my umbrella and she seemed very bothered by me asking. The cushions of the seats were disgusting and stained. My partner and I were grossed out by the...seats. Also I over heard the waiter asking the table next to us to leave a 5 star review for the restaurant and he would give a bill discount which not leads me to believe most of the review that are 5/5 are fake. Big let down. The restaurant Devore was the only thing that stole the show, apart from the dirty seats though.More

This is my favourite restaurant in London. I have been to Gloria twice and their sister restaurant but Gloria is the best out of the three. The second time I went I was served by Georgio and Mattia and they were so kind and friendly....This is the best hospitality. The atmosphere is amazing as well. Its such a cool place to go on a date or to impress and the price is amazing for the quality. Couldn't recommend more, I just wish I could book a table because its always in demand.More

table for 4 of us booked 1 month in advance, my BD celebration - we were seated in lower ground floor - dark place with old carpets ( when booking specify seating in the main ground floor restaurant, the rest is not worth booking for...special occasion, feeling was like in old suburb pub ) - food OK, just lemon meringue pie was above average - service ok, but no one acknowledged my BD despite specified in the booking - 2 of our plates were chipped - I was contacted 3 times in order to confirm my booking, once by e-mail one day before my booked date, twice by text on the same date as my confirmed booking, which I never experienced in more upmarket venues...More
